Job Title: Data Engineer
The Purpose of this Role
Fidelity’s Fraud Risk and Control (FRC) is looking to fill an interesting and challenging position on its development team with a passion for building and consuming business critical APIs, automating business processes and delivering capabilities to combat cyber fraud using a range of development and data management technologies and tools. The successful candidate will be self-starter working collaboratively with distributed teams to implement fast and flexible solutions, handling ambiguity, in an agile environment
The Skills and Expertise we are Looking for
· Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a technology related field (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science, etc.).
· 1+ years of experience in developing software working with SQL, relational databases, Snowflake, Python, and Java.
· Preferred to have experience with Postgres, YugabyteDB, Aerospike, S3 and similar data management platforms.
· Object oriented Python programming and proven experience with machine learning libraries - Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, etc.
· Good to have data parsing/analytics experience in large data sets using Python, scripting, and other similar technologies, integrating with and consuming APIs.
· Familiarity with quantitative techniques and methods, statistics, econometrics – including probability, linear regression, time series data analysis and optimizations.
· Good to have experience using source control and pull requests for collaborative development in code repository tools such as GitHub.
· Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform and AWS cloud deployment/application management is preferred.
· Experience using continuous integration pipelines and automated deployment tools such as Jenkins is preferred.
· Preferred to have Hands on experience with event-based systems, functional programming, new technologies and messaging frameworks such as Kafka.

· Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture strategies and development practices in heterogeneous technical environment.
· Seeking opportunities to improve risk information availability via APIs and shared services, recommend optimization ideas using cloud and on-prem solutions.
· Support cyber investigations and business users, providing technical guidance and institutional knowledge about risk data, its sources, and accurate usage.

FRC strives to protect Fidelity businesses, clients, customers, and reputation by providing effective and timely analytical and investigative services, optimally balancing fraud risk and customer experience. This team deploys advanced analytics to detect and combat fraud for enterprise-wide financial products and services, working closely with Cyber Fraud Investigators, surveillance analysts and technology groups including enterprise cyber security and customer protection teams, assembling and analyzing fraud risk signals in near real time.
