Master’s degree in business administration or accounting plus three (3) years of financial management experience preferably in a healthcare setting or
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, math, business- or elated field plus five (5) years of financial management experience preferably in a healthcare setting required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel).
Strong analytical skills and financial reporting.
Completion of the UAMS Grants Management Certification Program preferred.
Workday transactions (i.e., costing allocation, payroll accounting adjustments, manual journals) preferred.

Responsibilities:
Assist with all financial responsibilities for the Department and Institute including annual budget preparation, capital budget requests, and careful monitoring of departmental expenditures across all funds to ensure accurate postings.
Review purchase requisitions submitted through Workday.
Provide recommendations to the Administrator and RIOA Executive Leadership on financial matters including cost-savings measures and operational efficiencies.
Assist in the preparation of monthly variance reports, quarterly faculty incentive calculations, generate Blackbaud foundation reports, process Workday cost allocations, payroll accounting adjustments, and manual journal entries for cost transfers.
Assist with Justification for Recruitment (JFR) and FTE allocations in FacFacts.
Assist with contracts management (Ntracts) including Revenue Contract Analysis (RCA).
Assist the Administrator with special assignments including financial/workforce budget forecast and projections.
Attend relevant Workday training and other educational opportunities on financial management to enhance professional development within the department.
Review grant applications and research protocols to ensure alignment with the missions of UAMS and the Department and ensure compliance with institutional policies/procedures and funding agency guidelines.
Serve as the Delegate for electronic signatory of grant applications submitted through MUSE.
Provide grants management support for the Principal Investigators and research faculty in partnership with the Office of Sponsored Programs Administrative Network (OSPAN), Grants Accounting Office, and the Office of Research and Sponsored Program (ORSP) that will include complex grant applications (i.e., NIH Program Project/Center Grants).
Review monthly grant reports to ensure expenditures align with the approved budget and that the projected remaining balances have been forecasted correctly.
Meet with the Principal Investigators regularly to discuss any significant deviations from the approved budget and make future recommendations or necessary cost corrections.
Participate in the UAMS Grants Management Program Alumni (GMPA) meetings and attend the Grants Management workshops to keep abreast of important updates in grants administration.
Assist with RIOA Advisory Board meetings, RIOA building-related events, Geriatrics conferences, and special projects.
Assist in the compilation of reports for internal requirements and for external agencies as necessary.
May perform other duties as assigned.
