Position:
Financial Analyst (General Accounting / FP&A)
Report to:
LAB Finance Director (also responsible for other business area)
Responsibilities
: Inventory
Maintain accurate inventory records in the ERP system
Perform inventory reconciliations between physical inventory, sub-ledgers, and the general ledger
Calculate and record inventory usage, wastage and provisions
Support physical inventory counts; investigate and resolve variances
Collaborate with Operations teams to ensure data accuracy
: Account Payable, Freight / Transportation Cost
Review freight invoices and verify charges against contracts, rates, and shipping documents
Accurately record transportation costs in the accounting system
Analyze variances between actual transportation costs and accruals
Support month-end close related to transportation expenses
Process vendor invoices related to transportation costs
: FP&A
Assist Finance Director in building-up monthly/quarterly financial outlook, annual budget
Prepare reports related to Inventory balances and Inventory related cost
Drive business growth and productivity improvements via monitoring Financial & Operational KPIs, analyzing trends, and suggesting corrective actions in case of deviation vs target
Depending on workload and capacity, support for business functions beyond the Lab may be assigned
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or 2 years of working experience in Finance function
Ability to partner with colleagues in Finance and other functions
Good communication skills both in Japanese and English,
English proficiency equivalent to TOEIC 700 is preferred, primarily for reading and writing; verbal communication skills are a plus. Alternatively, candidates who rely on AI tools to help overcome language barriers and are motivated to communicate effectively with global stakeholders will be considered.
IT literacy : Excel, Hands-on experience on ERP (SAP/PeopleSoft, etc.) and analytical tools (Hyperion, etc.)
Preferred:
Professional experience in Healthcare Industry
Finance certification such as CPA, CMA, MBA.
