About the Role

The Programme Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of the IHS tribe on day-to-day basis, lead Programme governance, planning and delivery, and management reporting.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Programme Planning and Delivery:

  • Support the Programme Director (Tribe lead) to set the directions and provide guidance to the Tribe as appropriate
  • Make timely recommendations to the Programme Director on issue resolutions and process enhancements
  • Lead the Programme Office (central team) on the day-to-day activities, and work with the teams within the Tribe
  • Understand the business strategy and demonstrate critical thinking in facilitating business discussions
  • Apply critical thinking and collaborate with the team leads, agile coaches and Programme Office to resolve issues and raise material items on a timely basis
  • Lead overall Tribe delivery on time, within budget and at high quality
  • Be responsible for the Programme governance reporting to ensure high quality output in a timely manner
  • Oversee the consolidated project plan and lead inter-dependencies across teams within the Tribe
  • Monitor and track team deliverables, and proactively handle and report delivery risks and mitigations
  • Supervise resources on-boarding and pipeline across the Tribe
  • Actively manage IHS cost against budget, track actual spends and provide robust variance assessments and reporting
  • Develop and maintain meeting and operating rhythm cadence between the Programme Office, Tribe teams and relevant governance bodies
  • Facilitate discussions on material topics between Tribe teams and all relevant parties as needed
  • Ensure integrity of data and analysis available for management consideration and decisions
  • Support coordination across multiple Tribe teams and to enable Programme success (Tribe success)

Customer Management and Reporting:

  • Understand customer needs/concerns and upfront manage expectations/ requirements of all internal and external customers
  • Lead all aspects of the monthly reporting process from each team within the Tribe to the Programme Office
  • Be responsible for preparation of the materials for combined Tribe teams meetings and Steering Committee, including updates for Tribe teams, timelines, risks and issues, budget update, and other relevant updates, as required
  • Facilitate and coordinate the preparation of ad-hoc project updates to customers, including reports for Group Steerco, Group Exco, Regulators and other Group Office customers.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Maintain all required project governance documentation and supporting infrastructure
  • Manage the information flows between the various teams within the Tribe
  • Support Programme Director on team management and logistics

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Degree level / post graduate education
  • Minimum 10-15 years experience, with prior experience in project management in a large scale projects/programs in a financial environment
  • Experience in setting the strategic priorities is preferred
  • Insurance industry and healthcare experience is preferred
  • Agile work experience is preferred
  • Ability to understand business issues, and collaborated closely optimally with various departments;
  • Analytical ability and problem solving skills
  • Excellent customer leadership skills
  • Exceptional organisation and motivational skills, including attention to detail
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Great teammate and willing to go extra mile to enable team success
  • Located in Hong Kong
