The Oncology Outcomes Research(O2R) team is composed of high functioning individuals with exceptional strategic, technical and communication skills. The team is a key member of the Evidence Generation and External Alliances Organization within the Global Medical function and develops strategy for and delivers impactful real world, economic and patient reported research for the AZ oncology portfolio. The mission is to focus on identifying, quantifying, and presenting the medical value proposition of molecules in the oncology portfolio. O2R is a key thought partner for the Franchise leads and an important member of the Global Medical Team and the US Core Medical Team. Activities focus on the generation of evidence to assist payer and health care provider (HCP) decision-makers and include scientific evidence for reimbursement dossiers and market access. The deliverables from this team have a significant impact on the success of the global medical strategy.
The Associate Director is an individual contributor role and will be a crucial member of an Asset team that is collectively responsible for delivering strategic plans and implementing projects. The Associate Director reports to the Asset Lead, Oncology Outcomes Research, and will be responsible for leading the execution of health outcomes and real-world strategies and studies on a global and US market level. This role is also responsible for working with key internal collaborators supporting the execution and communication of studies. This position requires an individual with scientific knowledge of HEOR and its application throughout development process, business insight, and interpersonal skills.
What You'll Do:
Responsible for the execution of the Asset strategy for the Oncology Outcomes Research team, and other activities to assess, quantify and communicate the value proposition for the asset.
Responsible for specific Global and US Regional health outcomes strategy.
Conduct superior quality research that is medically relevant, scientifically valid, and aligned with the evidence generation and communication needs
Will support asset leads and work with outcomes researchers with diverse technical skills
Present research findings at scientific congresses and participate in the development and writing of manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals
Translate output from research into tools and resources for field teams
Maintain relationships and budgets with vendors to ensure timely completion of high quality, projects
Maintain in-depth knowledge of the disease state, market & customer dynamics, the competitive landscape, and reimbursement issues
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum 1-3 years’ experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry
Bachelors degree in health economics, epidemiology, outcomes research and/or related disciplines.
Understanding and knowledge and application of epidemiological/health outcomes methodology within pharmaceutical industry at an international level.
In-depth expertise with research methods for real world research, HEOR projects including pharmacoepidemiologic models.
Demonstrates analytical, judgment and problem-solving skills.

The annual base salary (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from $ 150,202.40 - $225,303.60 However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles) or to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
