Job Title: OHN & Associate Safety Specialist- Malaysia
Department: EHSS Department
Position Overview:
The OHN (Occupational Health Nurse) & Associate Safety Specialist in Insulet Malaysia will assist a team of all-level staff, outsource service providers, contractors, and visitors, ensure their daily activities support business objectives, comply with cGMP requirements, and manage their performance/development. Play an integral role in supporting the site in any emergency healthcare services for the workforce, overseeing all aspects of clinical and medical management within the clinic, including medical evacuation support. To provide safety management, advice, monitoring, and reporting in the workplace. Engage all staff in the EHSS programs that ensure safe practice in the workplace. The safety of our work focused on quality, being self-directed, being a motivated team player, and being a willing trainer—eager to gain and share new knowledge. The normal schedule for this role is Monday through Friday but the plant is a 24/7 operation and will require flexibility to maintain standards across all shifts.

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for knowing and following regulations that apply to Insulet Malaysia in their subject field to ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
- To provide primary and occupational health care to all employees.
- To assist in the smooth running and administration of company in sick bay/plant clinic.
- To maintain appropriate data on employee’s health performance index.
- Conduct appropriate occupational health promotion training programs.
- Document all medical cases and ensure correct and proper storage of medical records.
- Maintain accurate records of all injuries and treatments provided. Ensure compliance with reporting requirements and confidentiality standards.
- Send or accompany employees in ambulance/Vehicle to the hospital/Clinic as required.
- Conduct regular hygiene inspections of Company facilities to ensure safe, clean and conducive working conditions.
- To provide nursing aid to employees having minor ailments.
- Advised the injured on the need for further consultation with doctor.
- Assist in the investigation, reporting and documentation of accidents with the assistance of EHSS Officer.
- Support the ergonomic risk management program through the coordination of office workstation assessments & providing advice on postural awareness in the office and manufacturing areas.
- Maintain confidential medical records of employees, coordinate the running of the health center.
- Assist in the development of employee Health & Well-Being Programs in the areas of preventive medicine (screening for risk factors), Lifestyle Education (stress management, anti-smoking, development of healthy eating and lifestyles etc.).
- Direct and coordinate infection control programs, advising and consulting with specified personnel about necessary precautions.
- Implementing health care and procedures.
- Assist on enforcement of the safety policies, guidelines, and procedures as set out by the organization.
- Assist EHSS Officer to monitor workplace environment and facilities to ensure there are no dangerous situations.
- Report and present safety-related status and issues to the EHSS Officer & participate in the evaluation and analysis of concept and feasibility studies.
- Develops and/or implements programs to minimize risk to employees, customers, and the environment. Gathers EHSS information and evaluates results.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Environment, Health & Safety considerations into all aspects of manufacturing operations.
- Assist EHSS Officer to manage waste disposal, chemical handling, and other environmental aspects of the facility.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and drive Safety & Health excellence.
- First Aider Team Development and Management.
- Organize and conduct comprehensive training sessions to ensure all first aiders are certified and their skills are current.
- First Aid Box Management and Replenishment by conducting regular inspections of all first aid boxes to ensure they are fully stocked and comply with health regulations.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive audiometric testing program that complies with legal requirements and industry standards.
- Follow company guidelines to ensure food safety and hygiene are being followed & escalate any food safety and quality concerns to EHSS Officer.
- Conduct HIRARC (Hazards Identification, Risk Assessment and Risk Control) and Job Safety Analysis at workplace.
- Participate and support regular environmental health and safety audits and certification programs in compliance with established standards.
- Ensure all employees undergo relevant EHSS training are performed/assigned to employees including Contractors/stakeholders according to company policy and Legal requirements.
- Focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by internal standard functional practices and procedures.
- Conducting and managing the EHSS Committee meeting during the absence of EHSS Officer.
- Always ready to carry out any new task assigned from time to time by a superior.
Education and Experience:
- Candidate must possess at least a Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma Nursing or equivalent.
- Must DOSH registered Occupational Health Nurse
- Registered with the Malaysian Nursing Board.
- Valid annual practicing certificate (APC) from the respective body such as Nursing Board or Medical Assistant Board.
- 3-4 Years of experience with EHSS or relevant experience from manufacturing such as medical devise, pharmaceutical, healthcare, and cleanroom industry.
- Experience in First Aid and ERT.
- Ergonomic competency is an advantage.
- Safety-related competency or a certificate is a major advantage.
- Process Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
Preferred Skills and Competencies:
- Well communication skills with the ability to present to the team, management, and authority.
- Good spoken, and written English and Bahasa Malaysia
- Ability to fulfill job responsibilities in a fast-paced/high-volume production environment.
- Committed to job roles without hesitation.
- Proficient in computer skills, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Previous experience working in a clean room environment is an advantage.
- Experience working in a regulated industry; Consumer products or Life Sciences preferred.
- Have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and rigorous process discipline.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changes in daily work plans and unplanned issues on EHSS matters and the culture of the production environment.
- Sound decision-making using data analysis.
- Multi-language fluency preferred (English, Malay).

- Able to work all shifts, urgency, and some weekends as required to support EHSS or business objectives.
- Required to stand for at least 75% of working time per shift, with walking at least 50% of working time per shift.
