About the Role

This Insights Manager will sit within the Retail Insights team and partner closely with multiple cross-functional teams to drive both Retailer and Category growth. This is a generalist role focused on leveraging internal and external 3rd-party data to influence internal business decision making, conduct market intelligence, and unlock growth across a set of Instacart’s most strategic partnerships and categories.

You will strive to understand the dynamics of the marketplace through descriptive analysis, tackle ambiguous problems, and provide internal teams with the tools to answer “how did the business perform?”, “why did it perform that way?”, and "how can we improve performance?" You will be a subject matter expert on macro business, operational, and customer trends. This role is a hybrid of external client-facing and internal-facing responsibilities.

  • Partner with our Category Leadership team to decompose CPG category performance, build executive reporting and core dashboard infrastructure, and unlock internal business cases
  • Tell stories with data; ability to immerse yourself in Instacart’s vast database, pull together the relevant datasets using SQL, conduct analysis on the data to extract the key insights, and then assemble those insights into a compelling narrative and communicate it effectively to key internal stakeholders
  • Conduct deep dive analysis that uncover the root cause of issues, or to unearth insights that can help our partners grow or improve their business
  • Maintain strong stakeholder relationships both internally and externally
