This position is responsible for maintaining and purchasing packaging and ingredients. Responsible for managing the supply base for direct and indirect purchases and ensuring purchasing at the lowest total cost. Focuses on providing on-time delivery, quality and inventory control. Monitors and reports pricing trends, maintains checks and balances to reduce errors and achieves accuracy in inventory.

Core Responsibilities

  • Data collection for Request for Quotation(RFQ)/Request for Proposal (RFP).

  • Direct and influence multi functional departments to mutually agree on cost savings projects which result in tactical implementation of Sourcing awards/cost savings.

  • Recommendations on vendor managed inventory levels.

  • Assessment of aging materials and obsolete material review and disposition.

  • Evaluate and approve vendors/materials to support new product innovation.

  • Responsible for key performance indicators.

  • Responsible for value and supply chain improvements, including presentation of all revenue enhancement ideas.

  • New item set up and system management.

  • Pricing & contract management in coordination with Strategic Sourcing contracts.

  • Implementation and enforcement of Purchasing Policy and Procedures.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university and 5+ years' relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.

  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience in team management/development or project leadership is required.

  • CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager) certified or APICS certification, preferred.

  • Capability to synthesize data from multiple resources to build actionable recommendations.

  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving, works well under pressure.

  • Ability to negotiate, required.

  • Demonstrated experience with SAP and Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel.

  • Ability to communicate and present information clearly and effectively with peers and executive leadership, via written and/or verbal communication.

  • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.

  • Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.

  • Requires travel, up to 25% of the time.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Providing leadership and guidance to corporate buyers.

  • Directly supervises corporate buyers.

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
