Zipcar for Business is our B2B product, helping over 10,000 businesses to travel in a more sustainable way. Our clients range from sole traders and corporations to NHS Trusts, and we are looking for someone with partnerships or business development experience to join our sales team.
The core focuses of the Business Development Executive role is two-fold: to generate new leads for our signup team via the prospecting and nurturing of new and existing partnership accounts; secondly, generate revenue through our Zipcar Exclusive Use product by sourcing leads and taking them through the sales cycle to completion.
This is a crucial part of the business and you will work on both of these areas alongside the Business Development Manager, but you will also be expected to collaborate with the marketing, product and wider sales team.
Duties and Responsibilities
The day-to-day responsibilities of the role will include:
- Driving new business and revenue growth
- Work closely with key stakeholders to implement Zipcar for Business (Z4B) partnership and BD strategy.
- Effectively manage various relationships with Z4B partners to ensure they remain a consistent lead channel and be in the front of their minds for further opportunities
- Prospect and acquire new strategic partnerships
- Manage your own strategic partnership and business development initiatives with the aim of developing new revenue streams.
- Drive the growth of our Exclusive Use product amongst businesses through building relationships and nurturing opportunities.
- Find new ways to monetise the Zipcar for Business product
- Relationship and brand awareness
- Represent Zipcar at business events and city functions to further business relationships and lead opportunities.
- Develop relationships with existing and new partners to ensure Zipcar is at the forefront of their mind when they think about business travel.
- Work with the marketing team to ensure an excellent standard of marketing materials and collateral as well as brand alignment in partnership campaigns.
- Reporting and process management
- Create and manage landing pages for new and existing Z4B partnerships.
- Own the off-boarding process for historical partners
- Use Salesforce to manage monthly leads and opportunities pipeline
- Present data to internal and external stakeholders
Requirements & Qualifications
- Be proactive, commercially-minded and take pride in their contribution to business goals.
- Have at least 2 years’ experience in an outbound sales/partnerships role and is accustomed to hitting targets
- Be experienced in sourcing their own leads and building a pipeline of opportunities
- Possess an organised meticulous approach to opportunity development from prospecting, relationship building to closing.
- Is self-motivated, enthusiastic, and have a tenacious attitude.
- Have excellent communication skills with the ability to get ideas across in a succinct and confident way.
- Confident in presenting in person and online
- A confident negotiator
- Can work independently without continuous supervision
- Not afraid to share ideas
Desirable, but not necessary:
- Experience working with affiliate networks
- Existing business network across any sector in central London is highly desirable
- Experience working with CRM
