Job Description:

Radiology Office Specialist

Acts as primary point of contact for all departmental clerical functions pertaining to Imaging Services. Coordinates departmental logistical needs. Provides administrative and operational support to departmental leadership and clinical staff.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Demonstrates knowledge of Medical Imaging modalities and exams
  • Demonstrates the ability to use a personal computer and various software programs applicable to the position 
  • Demonstrates basic understanding of insurance and prior authorization requirements.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills needed to provide appropriate levels of service to Radiology customers in specific age groups.
  • Demonstrates the ability to operate applicable office equipment
  • Exhibits the ability to deal effectively interdepartmentally & with the public
  • Exhibits the ability to maintain confidentiality, think and act independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to navigate and utilize web browsers, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and other software applicable to position.
  • Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job location
  • Understands emergency systems, i.e. fire, security, disaster and in-house emergencies and ability to respond appropriately
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of Medical Terminology, ICD-10 and CPT Coding
  • Ability to type over 25 words per minute

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/DEGREES

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology 

EXPERIENCE

  • Two years registration or scheduling experience in a medical setting preferred
  • Basic procedural knowledge of Radiology procedures preferred
  • Clerical experience preferred
