College Intern - Commodity Business Manager

What a College Intern - Commodity Business Manager does at HP:

  • Evaluate supplier capabilities to ensure production output can meet HP demand.
  • Evaluate Supplier risk and prepare business continuity plans (i.e. multiple sourcing, geographic diversity, etc.).
  • Utilizes supply chain and financial modelling tools.       
  • Participates in Supplier Selection Activities.
  • Negotiates contracts with suppliers.
  • Identifies common contract risk areas.
  • Monitors supplier performance.
  • May lead activities for less complex domains.

Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:

  • Graduating Bachelor students in Business Administration/Management and Electrical/Electronic Engineering are preferred, other related discipline and years will be considered.
  • Strong business application skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint)                                                                                                             
  • Analytical and communication skills, including presentation and negotiation abilities.
  • Basic Project Management Skills.
  • Strong teamwork and basic leadership skills; basic influencing skills.
  • Cultural knowledge of working with foreign companies.
  • Knowing Display panel technology and Industry trend will be an advantage.
  • Ability to effectively communicate plans, proposals, and results to senior management.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives.
  • Work closely with suppliers to maintain assurance of supply for the commodity and take aggressive recovery actions during times of constraint.
  • Manages forecast processes for assigned commodity(s).
  • Able to commit for a 5-6 months full time internship, starting in January 2025.
