Job Summary

Improve corporate revenue through developing and improving negotiated vendor programs and developing vendor selection strategies in specific vendor categories assigned.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

  • Serves as the point of contact for preferred vendors and as a liaison between vendors and the sales team.
  • Manages vendor connectivity, gain financial support for marketing programs, ensure accurate invoicing and participate in routine analysis meetings to review programs and identify areas of improvement.
  • Selects products for the sales program, ensure products are successfully loaded into the system, set-up promotions and offers for point generation, identify product training programs and administer SPIFs for the sales force.
  • Manages the annual Supplier Summit, identify list of vendors to sponsor event, provide invite list and develop breakout session presentations.
  • Manages content selection for TOOL BOX and print catalogs. Solicits and submits story ideas for Source, SourceXtra and Solutions magazine.
  • Identifies and approves product training opportunities.

Nature and Scope

  • Solutions require analysis and investigation.
  • Achieves planned results by decisions and actions based on professional methods, business principles, and practical experience.
  • Manages a group or team of professional individual contributors and/or indirectly supervises support staff.

Work Environment

  • Usually located in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort, such as dust, fumes, or odors.
  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Education and Experience

  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 7+ years of experience in a related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.
