ROLE DESCRIPTION
This role will review, analyse and report on client maintenance data as needed. The position will focus on the team applying quality control, utilizing best practices, applying Global standards and process and Ad hoc requests as needed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Financial Master Data Analyst is responsible for the assignment of client, matter, and timekeeper numbers in the finance system. This analyst assists attorneys and business team employees with information requests and maintains all files and records in the department. Additional responsibilities for the analyst are listed below:
- Ensure timely turnaround and high level of quality control in the assignment of client, matter, and timekeeper numbers in 3E.
- Synchronize and maintain data flow between 3E and new business intake system.
- Maintain client and matter information in the 3E database, including but not limited to, updates to billing information, managing rate tables, recording name changes, origination allocation changes, updates to matter status, and edit other 3E fields as requested.
- Review and implement special billing arrangements in line with outside counsel guidelines.
- Respond to requests from attorneys, assistants, billing, and conflicts teams.
- Provide requested reports to other departments, as needed.
- Assist with the annual billing rate adjustment process to review and update special billing arrangements and firm billing rates.
- Assist with special projects, as needed.
- In accordance with your terms of employment you are required to ensure that the firm's information security policies and procedures are followed at all times.
- You are required to complete security awareness training within a reasonable timeframe and apply the policy, and training requirements when handling information.
- You are required to inform your manager or senior member of staff if you become aware of or suspect a breach of security.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
EDUCATION
- Grade 12 or equivalent – Required
- Bachelor of Commerce / Business Science in Accounting or Equivalent – Required
- Articles – Recommended
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ working experience, preferrable in a professional services environment.
System Skills:
- Microsoft Office – Intermediate
Mental & Environmental / Legal Requirements:
- This position demands exceptional quality, attention to detail, strict adherence to pre-determined deadlines in a high pressure environment.

Technical Skills:
- Proficient knowledge of Excel.

Additional Considerations
- Working Hours: 9.00 am – 17:30 pm Monday to Friday or 09:30am – 18:00pm (variable depending on team workload)
