Position Summary...

What you'll do...

The Senior Manager, Supply Chain Management (Backhaul Pricing & Strategy) role will drive pricing and strategy for Walmart backhaul business with a focus on maximizing revenue/profitability and utilization of company assets.  This role will lead a small team responsible for analyzing new and existing supplier bids for opportunities that fit the backhaul network and will have oversight of lane and rate governance, ensuring that rates are correctly published, processed, and invoiced.  Other key responsibilities include informing the bid process with prepaid suppliers through collection and analysis of preliminary rate and volume data, effectively communicating with customers/ stake holders to understand requirements for service and execution, working end-to-end with potential new customers (including identifying, landing, onboarding, retaining and growing accounts), and participating in business reviews with suppliers.  This exciting opportunity will also offer cross-functional collaboration with various support teams including Strategy, Procurement, Operations, and Finance to determine where best to deploy the Walmart Private Fleet on Inbound lanes.  The role is part of the Supply Chain Management team (Transportation) based in Bentonville, AR and reports to the Director, Supply Chain Management (Backhaul Administration).

You’ll make an impact by…

  • Growing backhaul revenue from winning new prepaid transportation lanes
  • Owning rate governance of a growing backhaul network that reduces Walmart transportation cost and contributes to our Every Day Low Cost culture
  • Auditing rates and financial/accounting flows within our Transportation Management System (TMS) platform via reports/dashboards
  • Conducting root-cause analysis to identify and diagnose revenue/cost trends

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field and 4 years’ experience in logistics, distribution, transportation, or related
area OR 6 years’ experience in logistics, distribution, transportation, or related area.
2 years’ experience with advanced functionality of Microsoft Office.
