What we are looking for:

Under the supervision of the Senior Portfolio Manager, the Associate Vice President, Private Wealth plays a key role in supporting client relationship management, investment management, and business development. This individual provides prompt, personalized, and high-quality service to a high-net-worth clientele, while actively contributing to the growth of the business.

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual with a strong sense of initiative, who is comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving environment. Your responsibilities:

Serving existing clients

  • Coordinate regular and ongoing meetings and events with clients for the senior portfolio manager.
  • Help prepare the agenda and select key topics as well as follow up after meetings.
  • Work with the Private Wealth associate to ensure that client files are up to date, comply with regulatory requirements, etc.
  • Provide proactive customer service over the phone and in person as well as respond to client inquiries.
  • Regularly review portfolios and rebalance them based on guidance from the advisory services team.
  • Make recommendations for changes or swaps, monitor positions, manage positions to ensure they comply with models, and manage tactical asset changes and the queue of new positions.
  • Analyze the financial information of current and potential clients in order to prepare investment recommendations to be used during client meetings.
  • Help associates with client onboarding and implement investment policies.
  • Demonstrate integrity, authenticity and a high standard of rigour in the execution of all mandates.
  • Apply Fiera Capital Private Wealth best practices and maintain constant attention to detail.

Business development

  • Identify business development opportunities for our asset consolidation activities with new clients (particularly through referrals) or existing clients.
  • Find new business opportunities and contribute to revenue growth by prospecting, building strong relationships and maintaining them.
  • Assist the senior portfolio manager in developing the acquired client base with the goal of becoming fully autonomous over time.
  • Network in various economic spheres (conferences, business groups, charity events, forums, etc.).

Must-have requirements to be successful in this role:

  • University degree (preferably in business)
  • Professional designation: the title of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) is an asset. Alternatively, the intention to pursue CFA or CIM certification as well as obtaining the required registrations in the near future is essential, as is obtaining a licence as a registered representative with the relevant provincial authority.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a relevant field, including commercial banking, consulting, accounting, finance, banking or other related field
  • High level of computer literacy and work experience using Excel and PowerPoint
  • Exceptional analytical skills
  • Above-average communication skills (both spoken and written)
  • Strong organizational skills and proven ability to multitask
  • Team player
  • Proven ability to build trusting relationships with sophisticated business clients
  • Commitment to providing professional service to clients
  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit
  • High attention to detail
