 Overview:    

We are seeking an experienced Technology Team Lead to spearhead our efforts in modern customer identity management. As a critical part of our team, you will lead the migration to a new CIAM tool, oversee the implementation of modern identity solutions, and guide a team of talented developers toward success. Primary Responsibilities:

  •  Lead the migration to a new tool for customer identity and access management (CIAM).

  • Oversee and contribute to the implementation of modern customer identity solutions, including onboarding, enrollment, and credential management.

  • Collaborate with developers and architects on solutions leveraging OIDC (OpenID Connect) and OAuth frameworks.

  • Guide a team of 5 developers (mix of contractors and full-time employees) to deliver on identity management initiatives.

  • Design, implement, and manage solutions in an AWS Cloud environment.

  • Build and scale the technology team by hiring additional developers through the RAC process.

  • Ensure alignment with best practices in modern identity management and enhance customer experience. 

Education and Experience Required:

  • A combined minimum of 9 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 4 years’ engineering and/or architecture experience and 3 years leadership experience

  • Proficiency in JavaScript and understanding of its role in identity management implementations.

  • Ability to manage and mentor a team of developers in a dynamic environment.

  • Familiarity with enrollment, login credential management, and onboarding solutions.

     

Education and Experience Preferred:

  •   Bachelor’s degree

  • Proven expertise in modern customer identity management, with hands-on experience in tools like Strivacity

  •  Strong knowledge of OIDC, OAuth, and other identity protocols.

  • Experience working within an AWS Cloud environment.

  • Demonstrated success in leading or participating in identity migrations, with a preference for candidates who have led such migrations.  

  • Previous experience in building or scaling technology teams.

  • Exposure to the broader identity and access management (IAM) ecosystem.  

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $110,635.01 - $184,391.68 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
