THE ROLE: The Operations Supervisor will be responsible for to ensure the safe and efficient production of all Heat Transfer products. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform/oversee each essential duty satisfactorily.
Manage and evaluate resources and capacity to ensure productivity and on time performance.
Cross train and assist with the day-to-day management of products throughout dedicate production line.
Oversee the hourly (Unionized) workforce team members within department.
Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
Lead projects to reduce expenses and increase productivity across within product line.
Become the facilities champion and facilitator for the following:
Lead initiatives around creation and maintenance of standard work within product line.
As part of a team develop a facility wide plan to implement, execute upon and ensure sustainment of 5S throughout the operation.
Develop programs to Initiate and execute a robust training plan in support of Safety, Quality requirements & Operations management.
Lead and support projects as required in the facilities using SQDCM methodologies.
Responsible to monitor & track department wide metrics in support of daily & monthly reporting obligations.
Lead and/or participate in continuous improvement events as required.
Participate in the operations strategic planning process and set ambitious production goals and communicate those plans to key personnel.
Regular participation and a key contributor to the facilities SIOP process.
Provide motivation, support, and guidance to all team members.
Regularly communicate any problems or obstacles to Value Stream Management.
Establish workflow policies that enhance speed and efficiency without compromising safety or integrity.
Create and/or execute upon schedules for team members to ensure optimum staffing levels.
Interfaces with Materials Management to coordinate materials for production.
Track and maintain department team member attendance records and address performance problems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or other relevant discipline.
Minimum 3-5 years of direct supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment (Unionized workforce experience is a plus).
Experience with ISO standards or other recognized Quality Management Systems is strongly preferred.
Experience with ASME preferred but not required.
Strong knowledge of Blueprint Reading preferred.
Strong Project Management Background preferred.
Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
Above average skills using Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of the organization.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to coach/mentor & train others on a consistent and regular basis.
Ability to work with little or no supervision.
Overtime is required, weekend overtime can be mandatory.
Flexibility to occasionally work any shift as required in support of the business operation’s needs.
DAY IN THE LIFE:
In this role, the working environment is typical manufacturing floor environment. Light Lifting (10-15 lbs.) required, mainly in manufacturing environment with some office environment exposure.
Salary range:
