About the Role
The General Manager, College Operations is a critical leadership role within the College of Design & Social Context (DSC), responsible for delivering strategic operational leadership and continuous improvement across a broad portfolio of professional and support services.
Reporting to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, DSC, this role leads a large multi-functional team, ensuring seamless operations in student lifecycle services, program support, technical services, planning, and strategic projects.
With DSC’s diverse mix of disciplines—spanning art, design, education, media, social sciences, and the built environment—this role requires a collaborative, solutions-focused leader who can refine and evolve operational services to meet the needs of students, academics, and external partners.
Key Priorities
Enhance and optimize College operations, ensuring efficiency, effectiveness, and high-quality service delivery.
Provide high-level strategic and operational advice, supporting the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and College leadership.
Foster collaboration across disciplines, ensuring operational alignment with teaching, research, and engagement priorities.
Lead and develop a high-performing professional services team, driving a culture of excellence, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
Implement best-practice service models, ensuring consistency, digital enablement, and responsiveness across College operations.
About You
You are an experienced operational leader with a passion for higher education and service excellence. You bring:
Proven expertise in leading large-scale professional and operational teams in a complex environment.
A collaborative and strategic mindset, with the ability to engage and influence academic and professional stakeholders.
A track record of driving service improvement, operational efficiency, and team performance.
Strong leadership and change management skills, fostering innovation and cross-functional teamwork.
The ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on problem-solving in a dynamic university setting.
