Developer 3, Systems Software sought by Merastar Insurance Company in Birmingham, AL. 40 hrs./wk. Duties include: Provide tech consulting & support for app. software development or computing technology. Develop, document & execute unit test cases. Resolve complex tech. problems with assigned apps. & work processes. Recommend test plans for impacted areas & test coverage. Recommend improvements to processes or propose new ones to improve quality of project deliverables. Perform code & design reviews. Consult with customers on utilization of apps. computing technologies to ensure that customers optimize value of technologies. Lead projects. Develop tech. knowledge & performance skills of IS project teams. Recommend new technologies. Support proof-of-concept activities. Develop tech. specs., design documents, functional designs, & requirements. Analyze complex facts & data & draw inferences from information. Assess alternatives & present solutions. Translate business to tech. requirements. Address & analyze impact of system issues. Remote work / telecommuting benefits available. Hybrid position. Must report to office worksite for meetings and as needed. Must reside in MSA of office worksite. MIN REQ.: Bach. degree, or foreign equiv., in Computer Science, Info Tech. or related field. 5 yrs exp. in job offered. SPECIAL REQ: 5 yrs exp in: Java; executing & supporting testing using Junit4/5; & various project methodologies (agile & waterfall). 3 yrs exp in: supporting multiple software apps; creating scalable systems using architectural concepts & patterns; writing systems design specs. such as Functional Requirements Specifications, Logical Designs, &/or Physical Designs; & Spring Boot. 2 yrs exp with Angular, Hibernate & SQL. 1 yr exp in: integrating new tech. within an existing system; & tech. controls, security concepts & SOX requirements. Travel: Up to 5% short-term, domestic travel may be involved to attend industry conferences. The range for this position is $112,674 to $135,300.
