Summary:
As a Custom Software Engineering Lead, a typical day involves overseeing the technical vision and architectural framework of bespoke software projects. This role requires guiding teams through the entire lifecycle of software design and implementation, ensuring that development practices meet organizational goals. The position demands active leadership in coordinating efforts to maintain high standards of code quality, scalability, and system performance, while aligning solutions with evolving business needs. Collaboration across various teams and continuous evaluation of technical approaches are integral to driving successful project outcomes.

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Expected to be an SME, collaborate and manage the team to perform.
- Responsible for team decisions.
- Engage with multiple teams and contribute on key decisions.
- Provide solutions to problems for their immediate team and across multiple teams.
- Lead the establishment and enforcement of development standards to ensure consistency and quality.
- Mentor and support team members to foster professional growth and enhance technical capabilities.
- Coordinate cross-functional communication to align project objectives and resolve challenges efficiently.
- Transition Planning & Governance
- Define and own the Service Transition Strategy for the SAP S/4HANA brownfield program.
- Create and manage a detailed transition plan, aligned with cutover, hypercare, and post–go-live phases.
- Establish transition governance, reporting cadence, and escalation mechanisms.
- Ensure alignment with IT Service Management (ITSM) processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Release).

Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in Service Transition.
- Good To Have Skills: SAP FI S/4HANA Accounting, SAP MM Materials Management, SAP Sales and Distribution (SD).
- Strong expertise in software architecture design and implementation.
- Experience in managing software development lifecycles and ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Ability to evaluate and improve system scalability and performance.
- Skilled in facilitating collaboration among diverse technical teams to achieve project goals.
- Hands-on experience in at least one SAP S/4HANA brownfield/system conversion program.
- Strong understanding of SAP landscapes (ECC to S/4HANA), integrations, and custom developments.
- Proven experience as a Service Transition Manager / Run Readiness Lead / Transition Lead.
- Strong knowledge of ITIL v3/v4 concepts and service lifecycle (Transition & Operations).
- Experience transitioning large-scale ERP programs into AMS or managed services
Knowledge Transfer & Readiness
- Plan and coordinate structured knowledge transfer (KT) from implementation teams to support teams.
- Ensure completeness and quality of transition artefacts, including:
- Solution design documents
- Configuration and development documentation (RICEFW)
- Interface and integration details
- Batch jobs, monitoring, and reconciliation procedures
- Security roles, authorizations, and user management processes
- Validate support readiness checklists and sign off on transition exit criteria.
- Cutover, Go Live & Hypercare Support
- Work closely with the Cutover and Release Managers to support go-live readiness.
- Coordinate with support teams during hypercare, tracking defects, incidents, and stabilization KPIs.
- Ensure clear handover from hypercare to steady-state AMS support.
- Service Model & Operational Readiness
-Define and operationalize the target support model (L2/L3 split, vendor vs internal support).
- Ensure:
- SLAs and OLAs are clearly defined and measurable
- Incident categorization and prioritization are agreed
- Monitoring, alerting, and job scheduling are operational
- Validate integration with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow).
- Stakeholder Coordination & Communication
- Act as the single point of contact for all transition-related activities.
- Manage dependencies across:
- SAP functional and technical teams
- Infrastructure and Basis teams
- Business and super users
- AMS / Run teams and vendors
- Provide regular status updates, risk logs, and decision inputs to program leadership.
- Risk & Issue Management
- Identify transition-related risks (knowledge gaps, incomplete documentation, operational gaps).
- Drive mitigation actions and track closure prior to transition sign-off.
- Ensure compliance with audit, security, and regulatory requirements.
Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 7.5 years of experience in Service Transition.
- This position is based at our Bengaluru office.
- A 15 years full time education is required.
- Strong stakeholder management and coordination skills across multi vendor environments.
- Ability to work under high pressure go live timelines and manage multiple workstreams.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and reporting skills.
- Preferred to have -
- ITIL certification (Foundation or higher).
- Experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools.
- Exposure to SAP Activate methodology in transition and hyper care phases.
- Prior experience in regulated or complex enterprise environments
