How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

The Assistant Plant Manager will be the primary resource in managing high purity nitrous oxide filling and testing. Activities include direct interface with customers, establishing a production schedule based on customer requirements, managing work flow through the analytical lab, and maintaining laboratory quality records including statistical process control charts. With experience, the person filling this position will contribute to maintenance of existing management systems such as the ISO9001-2008 quality system and the medical cGMP quality system. The Assistant Plant Manager will work with plant operators to perform analytical work by gas chromatograph and to perform maintenance on the laboratory equipment, cylinder filling pumps, etc. as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Interface directly with customers in taking orders and establishing a production schedule based on customer requirements. 

  • Ability to work productively with and direct the activities of others.

  • Schedule and perform testing by gas chromatograph of high purity and medical nitrous oxide.

  • Maintain all laboratory records including certificates of analysis and calibration data.

  • Maintain and enter SPC data into quality software and interpret the output.

  • Coordinate directly with customers concerning delivery schedules, product complaints, and other special projects as needed.  Participate in customer audits and in resolution of any audit findings.

  • Audit fill records.  

  • The person filling this position will become familiar with the ISO quality system, the medical quality system, the local procedure manual, the Safety Management System, etc.  The Assistant Plant Manager may become involved in internal auditing vs. one or more of these management systems or may become involved with writing or editing any of these procedures.

  • Hands on plant activity such as design and construction of a gas sampling manifold will be needed from time to time.

  • BS in Chemistry or in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering is desired.  Commensurate experience will be considered. 

  • Experience directing the activity of others.

  • Familiarity with GC operation, maintenance, and interpretation of results.

  • Thorough familiarity with Microsoft Office.
