The Regional Projects Manager (RPM) assumes the entire accountability for delivering both standard and nonstandard, complex and high-risk projects from conception to completion. The RPM will also maintain and foster long-term relationships by clearly setting and communicating achievable expectations with external and internal stakeholders. This position consults with diverse stakeholders and develops and implements strategic plans to mitigate risks, engages appropriate internal and external teams to target and achieve results and prioritizes tasks to overcome risks, constraints, and obstacles. The RPM provides mentorship, leadership, and motivation to drive towards a successful completion of the project, and build the strength, ability, and confidence of the entire Region.  The successful candidate must be technically adept, have a deep understanding of field services work, and be committed to the development of the business. Finally, this individual must be a steward of safe work practices and behaviors.

Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:

  • Acts as lead between with internal and external key stakeholders throughout the organization to execute on key objectives within the Services America team.  Provides critical thinking required to successfully execute on key initiatives for the Services Team.

  • Support Branches to solve the toughest client problems by providing specific subject matter expertise.

  • Works with internal and external stakeholders to insure client deliverables are meeting scope.

  • Supports Services Team to identify and mitigate project risks.

  • Works closely with Regional teams to understand future delivery needs; coordinate training and development plans to support upcoming work. The plans must focus on developing talent that is technology specific and aligns with the business plan.

  • Develops project execution plan that reflects/encompasses a full project schedule, budget and risks.

  • In coordination with the local branch, serves as the point of contact with clients and third-party subcontractors; will enable open lines of communication between client, subcontractors, local branch, and other support groups to ensure successful execution of the project

  • Develop, approve and manage, schedule and budget based on customer contract; will share profit profitability accountability with local Service Center Manager while maintaining the health, safety and integrity of project execution

  • Works closely with local and regional managers to advances the professional development of delivery team members through assisting with development and execution of competency assessments/verifications and formalized training plans.

  • Is a health and safety champion, dedicated to setting the best example through personal behavior and choices.

  • When needed, works with team to help distill field delivery problems down to manageable chunks; works with team to ensure key points are properly communicated to clients.

  • Liaises with specialized roles (such as Technical Leads, Engineering, Data Analysts) to ensure Standard Operating Procedures are adopted and adhered to in the field.

  • Provides feedback to Services Team stakeholders on technical trends/requirements and ideas for safety and efficiency improvements.

  • Works with peers to implement continuous improvement culture, dedicated to figuring out how the delivery team can be safer and more efficient.

  • Provide technical review of potential complex projects and proposals providing a recommendation on the feasibility of the project.

Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:

  • 10+ years’ experience in a field-based setting within the water industry; with at least 2 in a leadership/mentorship capacity

  • Post Secondary education a preferred with minimum of 10 years of related work experience, or high school diploma a preferred minimum of 15 years of relevant experience

  • Proven understanding of an operational/maintenance perspective; knows how critical condition assessments are to the overall management of water conveyance systems

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage projects involving field technicians/engineers and lead diverse, geographically dispersed teams

  • Passionate about the health and safety of people and the care/maintenance of tools and equipment; can speak to past health and safety statistics and personal role in maintaining a safe work environment

  • Technically and mechanically proficient; proven ability to teach technical concepts to others

  • Proven ability to create and manage budgets taking variable factors inclusive of but not limited to the economy, environment and the industry into consideration

  • Has a continuous improvement mindset; consistently looks for ways to be safer, smarter, faster without compromising quality

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous management/leadership experience an asset

  • Safety and CPR certification an asset

  • Bachelor’s degree an asset

Physical Demands:

  • Be able to stand on feet for a prolonged amount of time

  • May need to bend, lift, carry, and stretch to perform duties

  • Continually required to use hands and fingers and reach with arms

  • Frequently required to lift up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment:

  • General office environment and use of phone and computer equipment

  • Intermittent exposure to job site conditions; various weather, traffic, and environmental conditions

  • Travel as required to fulfill the duties listed above or as required by the Company

  • Standard weekly job hours: 40 hours

TRAVEL REQUIREMENT

  • May be required to travel to meet with clients or be present on worksite.  Less than 25%

Salary range:

$105,000.00 - $189,000.00
