Job Summary
Why This Role Matters
Lead a high-impact inpatient Medical Psychiatric unit at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital, where clinical excellence and compassionate care come together. In this role, you’ll shape care delivery, empower nursing teams, and improve outcomes for a complex patient population—all within a Magnet-recognized organization known for quality and innovation.
What You’ll Do
• Provide strategic and day-to-day leadership for the inpatient Medical Psychiatric Unit
• Plan, direct, and evaluate nursing and operational services to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care
• Develop and coach nursing leaders, including RN Supervisors and Clinical Care Managers
• Drive employee engagement with targeted retention strategies and a positive work environment
• Ensure alignment with hospital, state, and federal regulatory standards (including DMH requirements)
• Oversee staffing models, patient assignments, and care coordination workflows
• Manage and maintain departmental budgets with a focus on efficiency and outcomes
• Implement process improvements that enhance patient safety, experience, and clinical quality
What You Bring
- Master’s Degree in Nursing or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing with a Master’s in a related field
- Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license
- 3–5 years of nursing leadership or management experience
- Experience in Psychiatry and/or Behavioral Health
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
- Proven commitment to clinical excellence and quality outcomes
- Ability to remain calm, decisive, and effective in high-pressure situations
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements, including Department of Mental Health standards
Preferred Qualifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Experience leading within a complex inpatient or academic healthcare setting
