We’re seeking a highly motivated Saw Supervisor who is passionate about contributing to a cohesive and successful team. This role is ideal for someone who excels in maximizing profits within industry parameters while ensuring efficient operations in the saw department. We’re looking for a leader committed to creating a positive work environment, upholding high ethical standards, and driving continuous improvement.

HOURS:  Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (Overtime as needed)

COMPENSATION: Based on experience

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership and Support for Saw Operators: You will be the 'go-to' person for our saw operator team, offering prompt support and guidance.

  • Address and resolve saw operator issues promptly.
  • Foster open communication, encouraging operators to approach you first.
  • Build a collaborative, supportive relationship with the saw team.

Training and Emergency Procedures: Make sure our Saw Operators are well-trained to handle routine issues and prepared to contact SCM during emergencies.

  • Ensure operators know when and how to call SCM.
  • Act as the primary point of contact, resolving issues before SCM is involved.
  • Provide ongoing training for the proper use and maintenance of equipment.

Equipment Maintenance and Cleanliness: Keep a clean, organized, and well-maintained saw area with all equipment in peak condition.

  • Enforce cleanliness standards.
  • Oversee regular maintenance of saws and compressors.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance team for annual upkeep and operator inquiries.

Order Fulfillment Support: Provide seamless order fulfillment during peak periods and staff vacations.

  • Step in to support operators during high demand.
  • Assist with cut orders to keep workflow smooth and efficient.

Accountability and Continuous Improvement: Ensure Saw Operators are accountable for their work, and continuous improvement is embedded in operations.

  • Hold operators accountable for errors and establish corrective measures.
  • Innovate and implement strategies to reduce errors and increase efficiency.

REQUIREMENTS:

The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership abilities and a positive attitude to the role. Specific qualifications include:

  • Minimum age: 21
  • Previous leadership/management experience is required, with a proven ability to motivate, inspire, and maintain team morale
  • Saw experience is required
  • Dependable with excellent attendance and punctuality
  • Strong goal-setting skills and ability to see tasks through to completion
  • Able to handle various physical tasks, including lifting and organizing
  • Team-oriented with a strong focus on customer service
  • Adaptable to fast-paced environments with high accuracy standards
  • Drug-free and committed to workplace safety
  • Hardworking, respectful, and eager to grow in their role
