ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Fixed Income Analyst II supports both trading and research functions within the Fixed Income team, with increased autonomy and strategic involvement. This role blends market execution, portfolio analytics, and client servicing with deeper responsibility for trade strategy, risk assessment, and cross-functional collaboration. The Analyst II will leverage advanced knowledge of fixed income securities, macroeconomic trends, and trading operations to contribute meaningfully to revenue generation and risk management.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

The responsibilities for this role are below; you may support projects of varying complexity based on skill and organizational priorities.

  • Analyze fixed income asset classes to identify trade opportunities, portfolio adjustments, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Independently support trading desk operations, including trade execution, inventory management, and transaction processing.
  • Develop and maintain advanced Excel models and quantitative tools for portfolio analytics, pricing, and performance tracking.
  • Manage relationships with brokers, dealers, and internal sales teams to ensure optimal market liquidity and trade execution.
  • Provide deeper credit analysis and market spread insights to support sales and trading decisions.
  • Monitor and communicate macroeconomic trends, monetary policy developments, and market conditions to inform strategy.
  • Lead client servicing activities, including preparing customized materials, responding to inquiries, and supporting sales efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and contribute to documentation and audit readiness.
  • Deliver product training and share market intelligence across institutional and retail sales teams.
  • Support project management efforts, including RFP responses, reporting, and compliance-related initiatives.
  • Mentor Analyst I team members, offering guidance on technical and operational tasks.
  • Other Duties: Performing other duties as assigned, adapting to new tasks or shifts in priorities as necessary to support your team’s and the company’s mission.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in fixed income, trading, or financial risk management.
  • Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7, and Series 63 licenses.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Qualified candidates will bring emerging professional proficiency, generally acquired through 1–3 years of relevant work or internship experience in finance, accounting, or a related field.

  • Advanced analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to synthesize financial data and market trends.
  • Strong command of financial modeling and valuation techniques.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Familiarity with financial databases and platforms such as Bloomberg, Clearwater Analytics, or Capital IQ.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required securities licenses in accordance with company policy.

SKILLS FOR SUCCESS:

Successful candidates will demonstrate a higher degree of proficiency (typically from 1–3 years of practical experience or advanced academic exposure) across the following areas:

  • Financial Modeling: Expertise in building and interpreting complex financial models for fixed income portfolios and risk analysis.
  • Due Diligence: Experience conducting in-depth credit, accounting, and legal due diligence to assess transaction viability and risk.
  • Market Research: Ability to source, analyze, and synthesize market data, economic trends, and comparable transactions to inform strategic decisions.
  • Client Communication: Skilled in preparing and delivering compelling pitch materials and market updates tailored to client needs.
  • Technology Proficiency: Advanced familiarity with third-party financial platforms and databases (e.g., Bloomberg, Clearwater Analytics, Capital IQ) used in trading and risk management environments.

Total Base Pay Range 61,200.00 - 125,500.00 USD Annual
