As requested by clinical staff, the Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory therapy services to optimize pulmonary function and symptom control for patients.

Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience • Current Florida Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license • Minimum of two (2) years of respiratory therapy experience • Ability to work as needed and participate in on call schedule • Ability to work unsupervised in the field, exercising some discretion and independent judgment • Well-developed interpersonal skills: ability to problem solve with staff, while maintaining excellent working relationships • Able to communicate clearly in English (written and verbal) • Mobile Driver - Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance per Company policy • Ability to physically access any home (i.e., navigate stairs and narrow spaces, tolerate heat and lack of air conditioning) in any area the Company serves • Ability to perform the essential functions and physical requirements (including, but not limited to: lifting patients and/or equipment, bending, pushing/pulling, kneeling, lift 50 pounds) of the job with or without reasonable accommodation Competencies: • Satisfactory complete competency requirements for this position. Job Responsibilities: • Conducts respiratory evaluation of patients as requested by clinical staff. • Determines the need for utilization of respiratory equipment and supplies including BIPAP, CPAP, liquid oxygen, oxygen concentrators, nebulizers, oral and intermittent suction, continuous pulse oximetry and ventilators. • Makes recommendations for respiratory treatments and care based on patient assessment to clinical and medical staff. • Provides routine follow-up and monitoring. • Evaluates treatment effectiveness, patient compliance and safety issues, and recommend changes. • Provides education on respiratory therapy to clinical staff, medical staff and patient/caregiver education regarding respiratory equipment use and maintenance, respiratory medications and treatments, energy conservation, home safety and oxygen safety. • Prepares and maintains required documentation for each assigned patient. Completes documentation in a timely manner and distributes to the appropriate parties. • Performs other duties as assigned.
