About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic team leading our approach to the provision of quality care to clients of the Kinghorn Cancer Centre, Cancer Genetics Service. Our model of care utilizes Cancer Institute NSW eviQ guidelines for genetic testing and risk management for patients and their families.

About you:
We are seeking a skilled and energetic Genetics Counsellor who possess a passion for person centred care. We welcome applications from people who are experienced in providing genetic counselling in an oncology setting including genetic counselling for newly diagnosed cancer patients, provision of evidence-based surveillance advice to patients and family members, documentation and data entry in various systems including Trakgene and MOSAIQ and working as part of the broader multi-disciplinary team.

Selection Criteria:
1. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia
2. Post graduate qualification in Genetic Counselling with HGSA certification (or equivalent) and three years' clinical experience with extensive specialist knowledge within the discipline as defined by the award definition of a level 4 practitioner
3. Demonstrated extensive knowledge and experience in the provision of genetic counselling, risk assessment and risk management for cancer genetics with minimal supervision
4. Demonstrated leadership in effective communication through the use of information technology, written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
5. Demonstrated leadership to utilise problem solving skills and a multidisciplinary team approach in the planning, delivery and coordination of patient care.
6. Demonstrated high level knowledge and understanding of person-centred care, quality improvement and evidence-based practice.
7. Demonstrated knowledge and experience of EMR and database systems such as MOSAIQ and TrakGene.
