Trusted Concepts, a division of Two Six Technologies, is seeking a highly skilled Database Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and testing of complex data infrastructure to meet our customer needs. In this role, you will collaborate with network, systems, and application engineers to manage the database engineering and administration of systems for complex and high-volume data processing infrastructure. You will employ a variety of ingest methods and data management techniques, handling diverse data types, database functionality, compliance standards, and availability requirements.
As a Database Engineer, you will work closely with customers, project managers, and engineers to ensure effective communication and successful project outcomes. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with cross-functional team of software engineers, data scientists, analysts, project managers and other engineers to support a high volume and complex data system
- Assist with the design of network architectures based on customer data requirements and industry best practices
- Provide recommendations on how best to support ongoing maintenance and enhancements of data systems and platforms
- Development of unique solutions that will meet customer requirements and industry best practices
- Provide recommendations for continuous improvement
- Write and update technical documentation such as data system documentation
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience designing, installing, administrating, upgrading, patching, and performance tuning Oracle databases
- At least 8 years of related experience in database engineering and administration of systems for complex and high-volume data processing, using a variety of ingest methods and data management techniques, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:
- Experience performing all aspects in the lifecycle of database engineering and administration, including design to meet customer needs, install, deploy, data migration, maintenance, backup/recovery, patch, and upgrade.
- Experience in database security analysis and vulnerability remediation process.
- Experience in Oracle engineered systems such as Exadata, Big Data, MiniCluster or SuperCluster.
- Experience in managing database systems in conjunction with datastore systems in high availability, system redundancy environments.
- Experience in current and practical expertise using Oracle PL/SQL, SQL, SQL*Plus and SQL Developer.
- Extensive experience in: database architecture, design, and processing models as well as extensive experience with data architecture, modeling, and management in a broad spectrum of data repository environments, such as data warehouse, on-line transaction processing and hybrid.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:
- Experience transitioning into Cloud environment
- Experience transitioning solutions from RDBMS technologies to NoSQL technologies
- Experience with administration and configuration of database solutions for document and geospatial data/capabilities
- Experience delivering or integrating solutions using RDBMS technologies and NoSQL technologies
- Competence writing, changing, and understanding scripting in various languages such as Windows, Korn/Bash, Perl, Python
- Prior experience supporting database systems for the Sponsor or the IC for CT mission
- Prior experience supporting database systems for data collections unique to the Sponsor or the IC
