Job Description:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Under minimum supervision, determines the methods and sequence of operations required to assemble, modify, and repair power supplies.
  • Set-up SMT pick & place, conformal coating machine, de panel machine and other various machine functions
  • Performs all tasks and functions associated with the assembly of power supplies
  • Interfaces with the Engineering Department for the assembly of prototype power supply
  • Interprets blueprints, sketches, and works from verbal instructions for new power supply designs
  • Maintains records and paperwork associated with manufacturing
  • Assembles electronic components, subassemblies, top level assemblies
  • Reads work orders, follows production drawings and sample assemblies, and receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed
  • Crimps, stakes, screws, bolts, rivets, welds, solders, cements, press fits, and performs similar operations to join or secure parts in place.  Performs through hole and wave solver
  • Mounts assembled components, such as transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets, on printed wiring boards and chassis panels
  • Connects component lead wires to printed circuits or routes and connects wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points
  • Installs finished assemblies or subassemblies in chassis panels
  • May perform intermediate assembly tasks, such as winding & magnetic assembly, potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, etching, impregnating, and color coding, parts and assemblies
  • SMT, operates surface mount equipment and assembles electronic components, subassemblies, or systems by performing the following duties. Sets up solder paste screen printer and operates equipment. Sets up (except programming) pick & place equipment.  May assist in establishing profiles.
  • Adjusts or trims materials from components to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics
  • Will be required to participate in the Hazard Communication Program provided by the company
  • Obtains needed training requirements such as ESD Training, Soldering Training, OJT on specific inspection procedures, material handling, J-STD-001 certification and more
  • May be asked to perform other duties not outlined in this description

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Must have a high school diploma; GED equivalent or equivalent years of relevant experience
  • Must have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in soldering electronic assemblies and a minimum of 4 years’ experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment
  • Must have at least four 4 years’ experience in assembling electronic power supplies
  • Must be able to interpret blueprints, specifications, work instructions for power supply design
  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills. Reading blueprints, written instructions, process/procedures, and other instructions
  • Must have the ability to understand and execute verbal and written instructions
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals using manual or electronic calculator methods
  • Must have experience working with SMT rework station and Zephyrtonics soldering machines or equivalent
  • Must be able to solder components and having working knowledge of J-STD-001FS NASA standard
  • Certification in J-STD-001FS NASA standard preferred 
  • Certifications in ESD training, solder training and staking / bonding training is preferred
  • Must be able to pass general vision test requirements outlined by NASA standards
  • Must be able to lift 25lbs

The hourly pay range for this position, which could be performed in the US, is $17 - $27.*
