We’re in an unbelievably exciting area of tech and are fundamentally reshaping the data storage industry. Here, you lead with innovative thinking, grow along with us, and join the smartest team in the industry.

This type of work—work that changes the world—is what the tech industry was founded on. So, if you're ready to seize the endless opportunities and leave your mark, come join us.

THE ROLE

Lead the creation of clear, evidence-based market intelligence strategically guiding our product and go-to-market initiatives. You will be the "Voice of the Market," delivering insights and scenario planning across enterprise storage, cloud, data platforms, and AI infrastructure. This role is expected to have drive influence across our executive teams, marketing strategy and sales priorities. Success is defined by your ability to fuse disparate internal and external signals into sharp, defensible points of view with measurable business impact.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Drive Strategic Market Models: Develop, maintain, and own the integrity of our TAM/SAM/SOM models and workload-specific forecasts (e.g., AI, cloud tiers), ensuring clear assumptions, sensitivities, and confidence intervals.
  • Predict Competitive Dynamics: Maintain comprehensive, evidence-based competitor dossiers and proactively project future engineering investments and technology inflections based on signals like hiring, OSS commits, financial filings, and standards participation.
  • Conduct Proactive Scenario Planning: Run decision-tree or Monte Carlo scenarios for disruptive market events (e.g., supply chain shifts, cloud/OEM pivots), defining leading indicators and "act-now" triggers for Product and Sales leadership.
  • Translate Insights to Actionable Strategy: Convert complex market findings into concrete proposals for the product roadmap, develop new sales plays, and craft executive narratives used in high-level reviews and field enablement campaigns.
  • Establish MI Operating Cadence & Governance: Define the Market Intelligence roadmap, quarterly deliverables, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for claims and data sourcing to ensure reproducibility and legal/brand alignment.
  • We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Santa Clara office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Deep Market Fluency: Substantial understanding of competitive and domain dynamics within enterprise infrastructure, specifically storage architectures, data services, cloud economics, and the AI infrastructure supply chain.
  • Advanced Analytical Toolset: Proven ability to build and manipulate market models, applying techniques like time-series analysis, causal inference, and Monte Carlo simulation, with proficiency in SQL and BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Strategic Impact & Influence: Demonstrated history of building forward-looking scenario plans and using market insights to successfully influence and drive tangible changes in Go-to-Market strategies or Product/Engineering roadmaps.
  • Executive Communication: Exceptional skill in translating deep, complex technical and financial analysis into crisp, clear executive narratives and actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
