Senior Tax Specialist - EUR region (with French, German or Arabic)

A role is now available for a highly motivated self-starter to join us as Senior Tax Specialist in Global Tax Operations, supporting the EUR (Europe) region. 

Maersk’s Global Tax Operations team delivers business partnering services to our local businesses from a centralised tax function to ensure compliance with local tax regulations and coordinated responses to tax authority enquiries. This role represents an opportunity for a high performing tax professional to gain exposure to tax governance and compliance in a tule international business.  Key Responsibilities  

  • Support tax compliance process across the region 

  • Review of outsourced EUR region direct tax returns (CIT, WHT, TP)  

  • Prepare / review response to tax authorities’ queries and/or support tax audits 

  • Support tax reporting processes 

  • Support transfer pricing issues, controls, and documentation regionally 

  • Work closely with other tax function colleagues across EUR region and at our headquarters in Denmark 

  • Keep up to date with developments in tax legislation  

 

Who we are looking for 

 

  • Motivated self-starter / can-do attitude 

  • Open to taking on new tasks and gaining new experiences  

  • Organised, problem-solver  

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team 

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage / build relationships with internal and external stakeholders  

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English  

  • Excellent command of written and spoken French, German or Arabic (preferred) 

  • Bachelors degree  

  • Qualified Accountant or Tax Adviser (preferred) 

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a tax professional, preferably within a global company (preferred) 

  • Experience preparing and/or reviewing direct tax returns (preferred) 

  • Experience with working within EUR regional experience (preferred) 

  • Big 4 accounting firm experience (preferred)
