Department Overview
The position is within the System Integration Central Europe and Subscriber team located in Berlin, Germany.
The System Integration Europe organization delivers post-sale TETRA and ASTRO radio system and subscriber projects throughout Europe, through all project phases from pre-sale handover, design, factory staging and acceptance, field integration, customer acceptance, to service handover.
Within this organization, the SI Subscribers team delivers major radio device projects into Germany and whole region.
Job Description
Key responsibilities of the Project Manager:
- Project management of system integration projects in Europe, with a focus on public safety
- TETRA radio subscriber projects in Germany
- Assistance to government agencies and armed forces, provision of technical logistical support services
- The leadership of the project team and/or collaboration with senior project managers on larger projects within a matrix organization
- Planning and coordination of project tasks with the customer, all internal departments, subcontractors, and other stakeholders
- Building customer relationships and conducting negotiations with customers, partners, and suppliers
- Control of financial and physical project resources as well as control, motivation, development, and supervision of project team members
- Control of project cost, quality, schedule, and risks
- Project and contract administration, set-up and maintenance in various tools, management of documentation and contracts
- Project reporting and presentations internally and to customers
- Proposal and implementation of process and tool improvements
Basic Requirements
Key qualifications of the Project Manager:
University or equivalent degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration or
similar
- Fluent in German and English
- Minimum 4 years of professional experience in a project environment and ideally with a telecommunications and systems integration background
- Experience in frame contracts with the German MoD
- Experience in technical logistical support services (TLB)
- Leadership and project management skills
- Proven requirements and change management skills
- Experience in product, configuration, and obsolescence management
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, presentation and negotiation skills
- Ability to grasp, implement, and present complex business situations
- International experience and/or familiarity working in a multicultural environment
- Flexibility and self-motivation as well as self-direction and organization
- Good knowledge of office tools
- Ability and willingness to travel occasionally
- Willingness to apply for security clearance if required by the business
