The Role

As an Application Engineer, you will support and demonstrate ZEISS electron microscope systems to customers across Japan. Working closely with sales and service teams, you will provide technical expertise during pre-sales activities, system installation, and customer training, ensuring successful system operation and long-term customer satisfaction.

As an Application Engineer, you will support and demonstrate ZEISS electron microscope systems to customers across Japan. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct system demonstrations, technical presentations, and customer consultations
  • Provide pre-sales technical support in cooperation with the sales team
  • Support system installation, application training, and ongoing technical assistance
  • Build trusted, long-term relationships with customers
  • Support customer engagement activities such as exhibitions, seminars, and webinars

Required Experience

  • Experience in customer-facing technical roles (application engineering, technical support, or pre-sales)
  • Hands-on experience with technical equipment in electronics, battery, or related industries
  • Experience with electron microscopes (ZEISS SIGMA, GeminiSEM, Crossbeam, or equivalent)
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Business-level Japanese and English communication skills

Preferred:

  • Experience delivering technical training or system demonstrations
  • Knowledge of analytical techniques such as EDS, EBSD, EELS, Raman, or EDX
  • Familiarity with IT systems, software integration, or cross-functional teamwork
  • Additional language skills (e.g., German or Chinese)

Working Conditions & Our Benefits

Contract Period: Indefinite

Probation Period: 3 months (extendable up to 6 months)

Work Locations (assignment possible to any):

  • Base Location Osaka: 3-35-22 Tarumi-cho, Suita-shi, Osaka 564-0062
  • Until the Osaka Demo Center opens in fall 2026 or later, frequent business trips or short-term transfers to Nagoya are
  • expected.
  • (Domestic Travel: 1 -3 times per month & International Travel: 1 – 2 times per year)

Working Hours: 9:00–17:30 with 60 minutes break time

Holidays & Leave: Approx. 125 days per year (weekends, public holidays), Year-end/New Year holidays (Dec 29 – Jan 4). Paid leave: 14–20 days in year one, 20 days in year two, 21–25 days thereafter

Overtime: May occur depending on business needs; compensated per law and company policy

Smoking Policy: No smoking on company premises

Salary & Benefits: Annual salary: ¥4,500,000 – ¥7,000,000+ (gross). Bonus: Paid in accordance with company policy. Commuting allowance provided
