About the role

This role is part of Accenture Research’s global Technology Research team with a focus on Cybersecurity.

We are looking for a candidate with a passion for strategic research or business/thought leadership research related to technology services with a deep focus on cybersecurity related topics, comfortable contributing with new ideas, exploring and validating new opportunities, and addressing specific business challenges.

A deep understanding of the factors driving security demand for organizations and how to reinvent cybersecurity in a rapidly evolving technology landscape is crucial. Deep subject matter expertise (SME) on cybersecurity topics is essential, particular in areas such as: Cloud Security, Zero Trust, SASE & Cyber Mesh, Identity & Access Management, Application Security, Data & AI Security, Emerging Tech Security, OT & Product Security, Cyber Strategy, Cyber Protection, and Cyber Resilience related fields (including Cyber Defense, Response and Intelligence).   

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Drive both Thought Leadership and Client Research projects, both for internal Accenture objectives and directly for Accenture clients.
  • Identify the key issues facing companies related to cybersecurity and design thought provoking points of view on imperatives for success based upon proprietary insights, market analysis and understanding of emerging trends.
  • Originate, sell and develop innovative research to explore provocative questions in a logical and structured manner.
  • Design and manage business research projects
  • Utilize advanced analytical techniques to develop surprising new insights, and creatively visualize findings for client use
  • Support the creation of compelling, business-focused stories.
  • Contribute to high-quality presentation materials for current and potential clients, conferences, and other audiences.
  • Liaise with industry practice, 3rd party data providers, and suppliers to bring external data and insights into business research projects.
  • Lead junior team members and actively develop them.
  • Support the ongoing development of Accenture Research’s profile, visibility, and brand across our consulting practice.

Experience and skills:

  • Recognized subject matter expert (SME) in business research and analysis on Cybersecurity topics
  • Strong understanding of technologies and how they impact companies  
  • Foundation of core research strategy skills & issue-based problem solving
  • Strategic problem solver with the ability to take an issue and turn it into a researchable question
  • Experience and facility with data-driven research techniques, data visualization and the application of advanced analytical approaches (e.g., machine learning, natural language processing)
  • Ability to design, lead and deliver highly complex and innovative thought leadership research through e.g. industry player benchmarking, financial analysis or executive surveys
  • Proven ability to create a project plan and execute against it
  • Strong storytelling and communication skills and facility in executive presentation
  • Ability to quickly establish credibility with senior-level leaders
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a global, multi-cultural team
  • Clear enthusiasm for business/strategic research and willingness to learn and grow

Additional Information

Reports to: Security Research Lead, Accenture Research

Supervises: Individual contributor role with an opportunity to supervise at a later stage

Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree (preferably in technology, business, economics, statistics, engineering or science), plus a full-time Masters/post-graduate degree (preferably in business, economics, statistics, engineering, science, such as MBA or equivalent).

Work Experience:  12+ years business research, thought leadership research and management consulting experience.
