What You’ll Do

Provide basic emergency care to patients transported by the ambulance service. Responsible for leading, directing, and participating in the delivery of non-emergency and emergency patient care in accordance with ambulance protocols and all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Performs skills common to the clinical area. Assumes responsibility for medical supplies inventory, vehicle maintenance scheduling and staff scheduling.

Coordinates with other shift leaders, paramedic and EMT staff to complete essential functions during shift. Performs routine maintenance checks on vehicle at the beginning of each shift. Assures that the vehicle is completely stocked with supplies according to established par levels. Properly documents the vehicle check and documents and service required. Promptly reports any vehicle or equipment malfunctions to the appropriate personnel. Oversees the actions of the EMT on duty with them and directs them according to their scope of practice.

Requirements

Acceptable driving record and a minimum of 23 years of age. (Insurance purposes)

AHA ACLS, BLS, and PALS upon hire.

Current Missouri Class E or other state's equivalent driver's license.

Current Missouri Emergency Medical Technician license.
