Within HPE Global Procurement, we work closely with business and delivery teams to ensure we have the right partners, cost structures, and service capabilities to support our customers’ needs.

We are now hiring a Category Manager – IT Infrastructure Services (Resale Category) to help strengthen and optimize our partner ecosystem supporting HPE’s customer-facing services portfolio.

About the Role

In this senior category management role, you will lead the sourcing strategy and supplier management for externally delivered IT infrastructure services that HPE resells as part of customer solutions.

These services typically include:

  • Data centre & infrastructure deployment services
  • Hardware break/fix and maintenance services
  • Field engineering & onsite support
  • Installation, configuration, and integration services
  • Hardware lifecycle support services
  • Infrastructure staging, preparation, and operational support

Your role is to ensure HPE can rely on a strong supplier network that consistently delivers high-quality, scalable, cost-competitive, and customer-aligned services.

Key Responsibilities

Category Strategy

  • Develop and execute a global category strategy for resale infrastructure services, aligned with HPE’s Services and Sales organizations.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of market capabilities, service delivery models, pricing trends, and competitive landscape.
  • Identify opportunities for category optimization, partner consolidation, and service innovation.

Sourcing & Contracting

  • Lead sourcing events (RFPs/RFIs), complex negotiations, contract renewals, and commercial reviews.
  • Ensure supplier terms, pricing structures, and SLAs meet HPE’s requirements for customer delivery and operational excellence.
  • Drive continuous improvement and efficiency across contracts and commercial models.

Supplier Management

  • Manage key supplier relationships, performance reviews, and issue escalations.
  • Work with suppliers to improve delivery capability in priority geographies and service areas.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Pre-Sales, Services Delivery, Finance, and Product organizations.
  • Provide commercial support and supplier insights for customer bids, opportunities, and new service offerings.
  • Develop cost models, benchmarks, and supplier-backed pricing to support competitive proposals.

Financial & Governance Responsibilities

  • Own category financial planning, cost forecasts, and savings initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with HPE procurement policies, sustainability goals, and risk controls.
  • Maintain accurate supplier data, contracts, and category documentation.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or IT Management.
  • 5 - 7 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or category management, preferably in IT services, field services, or infrastructure support.
  • Experience with resale or partner-provided services or subcontracted service delivery models.
  • Strong negotiation skills with complex service contracts.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement in global matrix organizations.
  • Ability to interpret technical requirements and translate them into sourcing strategies.

Preferred Skills

  • Understanding of data center environments, field engineering operations, and infrastructure support models.
  • Knowledge of SLAs, KPIs, service performance management, and commercial frameworks.
  • Familiarity with procurement systems such as SAP Ariba or Coupa.
  • Strong alignment with HPE values: Partner, Innovate, Act.
