The role

We are looking for a Senior Regulatory Compliance Analyst to join our global Compliance Team and assist in leading Tipalti’s Compliance framework in the EU. This position is responsible for ensuring that Tipalti complies with their Regulatory mandate on an ongoing basis and keeps abreast with all applicable laws and regulations for e-money institutions. Knowledge of European regulators and regulations is required, as well as experience with AML and KYC requirements. Having knowledge of payments regulations and regulators in the UK, US and Canada is desirable but not essential.

The role will be vital in assisting the day-to-day Regulatory Compliance operations and implementing appropriate controls in place to meet the applicable laws, the regulators guidelines and Tipalti’s standards. This person will be required to assist with project work, BAU tasks within Regulatory Compliance, and implement any appropriate frameworks identified by the team to ensure risks are mitigated appropriately. 

We are looking for someone that possesses analytical thinking, is highly organised, understands the law and regulations and is willing to roll up their sleeves and help the team achieve their goals. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist the Compliance function in delivering various regulatory compliance programs and initiatives.
  • Support the development of policies and procedures that implement all regulatory requirements. 
  • Assist in regulatory submissions and report filing for Tipalti’s European operations. 
  • Support any new licence applications and application processes.
  • Support project(s) to support full impact and gap analysis and satisfactory implementation of new compliance requirements. 
  • Assisting in the production of effective and timely management information for senior management and various Committees.
  • Support the implementation of any mitigation plans as a result of audits/exams.
  • Possess a can do attitude and be able to dive in and get the job done when needed. 
  • Support the business on a wide range of compliance matters.
  • A strong analytical and metrics driven approach to create substantiated solutions and efficiency
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter who can perform flawlessly with minimal direction
  • Ability to present and communicate findings to senior leadership
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adjust quickly as things change
  • Proven ability to operate in ambiguous environments and exhibit flexibility in navigating from current state to proposed solutions

Requirements

Knowledge and experience: 

    • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a financial services firm, related e-money or payment institution firm with proven experience in Compliance. 
    • Prior experience within a Regulatory compliance function is desired but not essential.
    • Strong understanding and knowledge of EU compliance regulations and requirements and AML frameworks, with the ability to apply this knowledge to identify and escalate key risks for other jurisdictions. 

Communication and interpersonal skills: 

    • Strong relationship building skills and ability to communicate verbally and in writing with various levels of the organisation, including management. 
    • A sense of urgency and aptitude for multi-tasking, quickly identifying issues and escalating to the appropriate level for resolution.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment and with distributed teams across different geographies & cultures.
    • Ability to draft policy and process documentation based on direction provided.

Analytical and project management skills:

    • The ability to navigate complex compliance issues and identify areas of improvement.
    • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving, with attention to detail. 
    • Good organisation, collaboration, planning and project execution skills. 

Professional Certifications: 

    • Relevant certifications such as Certificate in Payments II (CertPay), CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) or ICA (International Compliance Association) qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
