What you'll do...

Position: Software Engineer III

Location: 640 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086

Duties:  Work on small to large-sized complex projects by reviewing project requirements; translating requirements into technical solutions; researching and identifying alternative solutions; determining needed solution based on return on investment and value add to the business; gathering requested information (for example, design documents, product requirements, wire frames); writing and developing code; conducting unit testing; communicating status and issues to team members and stakeholders; collaborating with project team and cross functional teams; identifying areas of opportunity; interpreting information and identifying a solution; ensuring solution is sustainable across implementation and use; troubleshooting open issues and bug-fixes; and ensuring on-time delivery and hand-offs. Troubleshoot business and production issues by gathering information (for example, issue, impact, criticality, possible root cause); performing root cause analysis to reduce future issues; engaging support teams to assist in the resolution of issues; developing solutions; driving the development of an action plan; performing actions as designated in the plan; interpreting the results to determine further action; and completing online documentation. Conduct code reviews to ensure coding standards are met all time. Ensure unit test coverage is up to the standard and conduct end-to-end testing to ensure new features added are working as expected with existing systems and are not causing any bugs in the system.

Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any), or a related field. Position does not require specific years of experience but requires listed skills.

Skills Required: Experience designing and implementing REST API web services using Java. Experience coding in Java object-oriented programming language. Experience with relational database systems including MYSQL and HANA SQL. Experience with NoSQL databases including Cosmos and MongoDB. Experience with Distributed Event Processing using Kafka. Experience with PaaS cloud computing platform. Experience with microservices architecture. Experience developing and maintaining testing suites using JUnit framework and in memory testing. Experience building large scale data processing pipeline with Apache Spark. Experience with Scala functional programming language. Experience with application development using Spring and Spring Boot frameworks. Experience with Redis Distributed Cache. Employer will accept any amount of professional experience with the required skills.

Salary Range: $150,762/year to $234,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.   Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
