- Position: Mental Health Clinical Therapist I
- Location: LOH Naperville
- Part time- 24 hrs/week
- Hours: Monday & Friday and every other weekend
A Brief Overview:
Providing quality clinical therapeutic services to patient populations and their families/significant others. Serving as a member of the interdisciplinary team, supporting the organization's treatment program and philosophy and assuring the deliverance of quality treatment.
What you will do:
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of assigned patient population. This includes knowledge of the physical and psychological needs of the patients as well as the ability to respond appropriately to those needs.
- Conducts psychosocial assessments by interviewing the patient and their significant others to obtain history and identify preliminary issues for treatment focus.
- Contacts appropriate previous and current tertiary caregivers to obtain relevant collateral clinical data that may be needed for the patient’s coordination of care, treatment planning and discharge planning.
- Develops, implements and monitors progress of the patient’s individualized treatment plan.
- Conducts daily group and individual assessments to identify issues for treatment focus by interviewing the patient one-on-one and transcribing relevant information.
- Provides individual, group and family process-oriented counseling sessions. Conducts educational, after care support and other didactic groups for patients and family members using various professional treatment modalities.
- Participates in regular clinical team meetings/staffing and provides input on the psychosocial, disease management and case management needs of the patient.
- Demonstrates an understanding, and adheres to all procedures and legislation, which apply to patients cared for in a Mental Health and Substance Abuse treatment facility.
- Demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of community resources (12 step support meetings, recovery homes and residential treatment facilities) and medical allied staff expertise to assure an appropriate discharge liaison is implemented.
- Reports to community/state agencies any patient issues that are required by hospital policy and state or federal law. Serves as the facilities representative in legal proceedings resulting from said reports.
- Maintains accurate and timely medical records including psycho-social assessments, family session and daily progress notes to include school personnel and other community collateral involvement. Provides descriptions of therapeutic interventions and patient response for discharge planning process.
- Schedules, attends and documents court hearings as required, such as involuntary admission, guardianship, etc.
- May provide backup services for incoming assessment and referral calls.
- Participates in activities that enhance professional growth and development. May serve as a spokesperson before professional or community groups.
- Demonstrates conduct in keeping with LOH ethical standards.
- Complies with facility safety, infection control and security program.
- Floats to alternate units or Linden Oaks locations based on census and staffing needs.
What you will need:
- Masters Degree Social Work Required
- 2 Years of experience in a behavioral health setting
- Knowledge of developmental psychology, disease pathology and clinical needs of assigned population
- Ability to maintain information which is highly confidential
- Ability to clearly summarize pertinent clinical information via written correspondence and medical records documentation
- Ability to demonstrate self-control in volatile or hostile situations
- Ability to set therapeutic limits and maintain therapeutic distance with clients; maintains therapeutic boundaries with patients during treatment and following discharge
- Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) Required And
- Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) Required And
- Licensed Social Worker (LSW) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) Required And
- AHA Heartsaver CPR - American Heart Association (AHA) Required And
- CPI Certification - Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Required within 90 days
