EMEA Senior Engineering Manager

ABOUT US:

You'll join an entrepreneurial, inclusive culture. One where we succeed together – across the desk and around the globe. Where like-minded people work naturally together to achieve great things.

The Senior Engineering Manager is a key operational leadership role supporting JLL's client, Amazon Global Real Estate & Facilities (GREF), within the EMEA region. Reporting directly to the EMEA Program Lead – Engineering, this role is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of engineering service delivery across a defined geographic area within EMEA.

The Senior Engineering Manager directly line-manages Engineering Operational Managers at a Geo level, providing strong people leadership, performance management, and operational oversight. They are the primary point of accountability for ensuring that engineering service delivery standards are consistently met across their geographic region, in alignment with the broader EMEA engineering program and GREF's requirements.

The role requires a hands-on operational leader who combines technical engineering expertise with strong management capabilities, ensuring teams in their Geo are delivering to the highest standards while maintaining compliance, performance, and continuous improvement.

As a Senior Engineering Manager at JLL, you will be responsible for

Team Leadership & Line Management

  • Directly manage and develop Engineering Operational Managers across the Geo, providing clear direction, support, and accountability for performance.
  • Conduct regular one-to-ones, performance reviews, and development conversations with direct reports, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and retention of engineering management talent within the Geo in partnership with HR and the EMEA Program Lead.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for engineering operational issues within the Geo, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Champion a positive team culture that reflects JLL's values and Amazon GREF's expectations for professionalism and service excellence.
  • Cascade program direction, strategic priorities, and key messages from the EMEA Program Lead – Engineering down to the operational management layer.

Operational Oversight & Service Delivery

  • Ensure engineering service delivery standards are consistently met across all sites within the Geo, in line with JLL contractual obligations and GREF program requirements.
  • Provide day-to-day operational oversight of engineering activities including planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, and asset management.
  • Monitor and manage compliance with all standard operating procedures, engineering programs, and GREF-mandated service delivery methodology.
  • Support the delivery of MEP services including employee comfort systems, troubleshooting, and repairs, ensuring site teams have the guidance and resources required.
  • Oversee the integrity and management of assets within Corrigo, ensuring assets are current with applicable coding and PM programs meet equipment lifecycle requirements.
  • Partner with site teams and Engineering Operational Managers to identify and address operational challenges proactively, leveraging data trends to highlight potential system issues before they escalate.
  • Verify that MEP standards are programmed and met at all site locations within the Geo, identifying potential design or compliance impacts and escalating to the EMEA Program Lead where required.

Program Alignment & Compliance

  • Support the implementation and localisation of EMEA-wide engineering programs within the Geo, ensuring adherence to program standards while accommodating local operational requirements.
  • Assist in the delivery and management of Capex planning, Asset Life Cycle & Reliability programs, and D&C Closeout & Commissioning Asset Gathering processes at the Geo level.
  • Work in close coordination with the EMEA Program Lead – Engineering on program updates, reviews, and revisions, providing Geo-level input and operational insight.
  • Partner with Project Managers on new builds and capital projects within the Geo, ensuring consistency with GREF standards and engineering program requirements.
  • Ensure all Health & Safety and Environmental requirements are upheld within the Geo in accordance with work instructions, training, and applicable regulations.
  • Follow and enforce reporting, standard operating procedures, program methodology, and HR practices in line with the regional consistent approach.

Stakeholder Engagement & Relationships

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with Amazon GREF site and regional teams within the Geo, acting as a trusted operational partner.
  • Support and collaborate with all internal and external stakeholders as required – including Facilities Management, Technical Management, Space & Occupancy, IT, Security, EHS, and strategic partners.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of the client's business operations and key factors influencing their requirements for engineering services within the Geo.
  • Support the achievement of agreed IFM financial targets for the Geo, identifying opportunities to optimise cost and improve value without compromising service delivery.
  • Contribute to the identification of value-add opportunities and collaborate with the EMEA Program Lead on future planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Represent operational engineering performance within the Geo in internal reporting, reviews, and client-facing communications as required.

Requirements:

  • A BS degree in Engineering, Building Services, Facilities Management, or a related technical discipline is strongly preferred.
  • Significant operational experience in engineering or facilities management, with a track record of managing engineering teams within large, complex, multi-site environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of MEP systems, asset management, and building services engineering.
  • Familiarity with CMMS platforms (e.g. Corrigo) for asset management and PPM program oversight.
  • Experience in managing engineering service delivery within a corporate real estate or IFM environment, ideally supporting a global technology or high-growth client.

Leadership & People Management

  • Strong operational planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities across a geographic region concurrently.
  • Experience in supporting or implementing engineering and IFM programs within a structured, compliance-driven environment.
  • Data-driven approach to operational management, with the ability to use reporting and trend analysis to identify issues and drive improvement.
  • Detail-oriented and proactive in identifying and closing operational gaps, ensuring service delivery remains consistent and compliant.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise workloads effectively under pressure, maintaining focus on contractual obligations and client expectations.

Communication & Personal Attributes

  • Strong communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (and local language where applicable); able to communicate confidently at all levels.
  • Demonstrated client relationship skills, with an ability to build credibility and trust with operational and senior client stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated and confident with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for outcomes within their geographic region.
  • Flexible and resilient – able to adapt quickly and effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Exhibits honesty, trustworthiness, and integrity in all aspects of their work.
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively as an effective team player within the broader EMEA engineering leadership structure.
