Who You’ll Work With
You’ll join the Strategic Marketing team in our head office in Saint Louis and become an integral part of building the future growth of BW Design Group. You’ll be part of a growing marketing organization, playing a pivotal role in shaping and realizing the potential of our business.
When you join BW Design Group as a Senior Creative Leader—you are joining a small but ambitious team of highly creative, high-performing, and strategic marketing leaders and creatives who have worked on both large and emerging B2B & consumer brands with deep experience in brand transformation, brand positioning, and brand identity & design. Any creative or designer that joins the team should be excited by a challenge, comfortable with change, and ready to drive true, visible impact on our brands.
Our creative & design team works like an internal creative agency, led by an Associate Creative Director, to build world-class brands and redefine what an internal creative team can build and impact. What You’ll Do
You’ll work like a senior art director alongside the Associate Creative Director to concept, debate, and refine new concepts in a variety of media. We will work closely with Brand Strategy and Brand Equity leaders to deeply understand the business, client, market, audiences, competitors, products, services, capabilities, brand architecture, brand positioning, and the brand value proposition—to delivery radically clear and elevated brand activations. You will confidently champion our high-standards for brand design as you output high level concepts and tactical brand executions in a deadline-driven environment.
- Rapidly concept, iterate, and co-create elevated creative for digital media, video, web, and socials with or separately from the Associate Creative Director and in coordination with brand strategy. You will constantly push with innovative creative and design that take each deliverable and the brand to a new level while working within industry best practices.
- Lead creative direction & production in your areas of expertise. Proactively support and build new concepts in digital media, socials, web design, video, and photography—setting new standards for how brand comes to life and is executed across this variety of media. Then producing, getting approvals, project managing, filming/photographying, and editing for a finished market-ready deliverable—all while working within tight budgets and deadlines.
- Collaborate openly on multiple levels with a variety of stakeholders: Become a go-to for thought-leadership in brand design and innovative digital deliverables. You develop a deep understanding and empathy for each stakeholder’s business, objectives/challenges, and their unique brand strategies. You respect non-creatives need and opinions in the process as they know the company, business, markets, product, and business capabilities at levels and in more detail—than we ever could.
- Concept and elevate brand defining first-use cases & content for brand and marketing materials to fully realize and translate the approved, overarching brand identity across multiple tactical touchpoints (big and small). This work includes: key customer marketing materials, web/social/and video support for tradeshows, internal firm-wide programs and communication videos, social asset kit for multiple types of communications and posts, external brand videos, renderings, differentiated brand & people photography, market imagery, project photography & video, and one-off requests that help us visualize high-level commercial and business concepts.
- Help build the systems & infrastructure that power brand consistency, scalability, and company-wide adoption. Support an evolving internal creative process to better serve our marketing processionals so we can do more with less. Works to integrate AI design systems to support the business-wide tactical executions without sacrificing our high standards for quality, strategy, and on-brand design.
- Partner, articulate, and justify creative & design decisions to the Associate Creative Leader and Brand Strategy/Equity team across a variety of requests and deliverables
- Maintain & support ongoing brand standards: Review and quality control digital brand executions from other creatives and designers. Support overflow projects of brand equity and design requests as needed.]
- Work may require 20% travel for photoshoots and videoshoots.
Qualifications
- 7–10+ years in an art director or creative leader role within a marketing team, in-house creative brand team, or creative agency—experience with B2B or B2C brands is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communications, digital arts, or related creative field preferred.
- Required: A killer portfolio, website, pdf, or link to relevant and recent design and/or art direction work. Any art direction or graphics made for video or motion graphics, is a plus.
- Subject matter expertise in at least 3 areas of brand design:
- Creative Direction & Development: Creative strategy, art direction, innovative/creative concepting & layouts, brand storytelling & transformation for brands with client or marketing presentation and communication
- Visual Identity Development: Building visual brand identities with proven business results
- Art Direction & Graphic Design: Visual and style concepting, photo and/or video shoot art direction experience (concept, production, post-production direction), art direction presentation/pitch skills, master of design concepts and programs
- Photography, Renderings, & Digital Content Assets: Art direction & development for brand photography or branded assets including visual concepting, on-set art director for professional photoshoots, and working with and sourcing freelance photographers, photo retouching experts, [various] stylists, and/or 3-D renderers.
- Digital Design: Including social media graphics and best practices, digital marketing assets & content, or digital campaigns/ads, or building ecommerce brand experiences
- Marketing Materials: Building on-brand marketing materials from strategy briefs to delivery for external audiences (clients or customers)—working with stakeholders or feedback from brand managers, key accounts, sales, and/or other key marketing leaders
- Videography: Creative strategy, art direction, building and managing scripts, video director/producer, professional production & shooting on-location or in-studio
- Video editing & Motion Graphics: Creative video campaigns, social media videos, strong typography & graphics in motion, brand storytelling and voiceover design, sound and music integration, and post-production processing and delivery
- Web Design: UI/UX, external-facing websites, (no coding necessary).
- Copywriting: Writing copy for client/customer facing audiences
- Experience managing, leading, or mentoring a creative team OR creatives, designers, and/or contractors.
- Proficient to expert competencies: Adobe (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign)
- for Video experts: Adobe After Effects, Final Cut Pro
- for Web Design experts: Sketch or Figma, familiarity with front-end development, UI/UX best practices
- Basic understanding in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
- Able to work and design on a MAC and translate some deliverables to a PC/Microsoft environment.

Speaks “brand” with a high literacy of business/brand strategy including brand positioning, brand messaging, and marketing strategies & campaigns.
- Creative Project Leadership, Facilitation, & Delivery: Effectively communicates, adapts, and problem solves to deliver on-brand executions in a fast-paced environment. Able to identify possible barriers but also opportunities to deliver elevated on-budget and on-time brand work. Wears many hats to get projects done, without sacrificing quality, and with limited resources.
