Summary :

Striving to improve the health and well-being of the communities and patients we have the privilege of serving the Director, Infectious Disease, Hospitalist and Intensivists works with the Vice President of Acute Care and physician dyad partners to grow and develop these ThedaCare’s programs. Supports the transition to population health by optimizing performance and building strong relationships across the Care Continuum. Continuosly striving to deliver a “Life-Inspired” by being an exceptional place ot give and receive care. Responsible for effective operations and ensuring that requirements for safety, quality, service, and value are met utilizing a physician-led, professionally managed culture. Job Description:

Key Accountabilities

  • Provides strategic planning, program development, labor management, and overall operational administration of the department.
  • Effectively directs team members in a manner consistent with ThedaCare policies and values. Ensures the recruitment and retention of competent team members to meet the clinical and operational needs of the department.
  • Enhances communication between the up-stream, in-stream and down-stream teams to create seamless, efficient, well-coordinated care for patients.
  • Designs, implements, coordinates, and standardizes program processes by facilitating patient flow across and within the ThedaCare system and across key strategic partners.
  • Prioritizes work to achieve operational, quality, and service goals in alignment with program strategy and business plans across ThedaCare.
  • Complies with billing and coding requirements and works collaboratively with other team members to generate optimal revenue for ThedaCare.
  • Evaluates and monitors the quality and effectiveness of patient care and patient satisfaction, and follows up with appropriate action to continuously improve the patient experience.
  • Ensures that the accreditation standards established by various regulatory bodies and health plans are maintained.
  • Is responsible for recruitment and onboarding of new providers/care team members and integrating services into inpatient and outpatient care. Works closely with providers to obtain input and support of program initiatives/service line development and improvements.
  • Supports the medical director in data collection to meet department’s performance objectives and other process improvement efforts.
  • Works with dyad medical directors to ensure clinical decision making and patient care delivery is supported with evidence-based practice.
  • Works collaboratively with inpatient and outpatient clinicians to optimize patient care and advance ThedaCare goals.
  • Assesses and leads potential hospitalist, intensivist and infectious disease program development opportunities to meet the inpatient needs of ThedaCare and our communities.
  • Coordinates activities with physicians, leaders, team members, and other individuals and/or entities as necessary to ensure the success of the hospitalist and intensivist program. Assists with physician and advanced practice clinician training to ensure all clinicians are up to date with the necessary treatment protocols, diagnostic, interpretation, and formulation methodologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business administration, or related field
  • Five years of progressive responsibility in a healthcare setting
  • Three years of leadership experience to include leading teams and/or projects

Physical Demands

  • Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of twenty-five (25) pounds without assistance
  • Category 2: Job classification is not exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties
