Job Description Summary:

This position offers a unique opportunity across different seasons. During the winter, the role is based at the Base Lodge Clinic on Whitefish Mountain, supporting the ski season. In the summer, the employee will transition to the West Glacier Clinic in Glacier National Park. During the shoulder seasons, there will be opportunities to train and work in the Emergency Room at Logan Health Whitefish Hospital.

This position performs general diagnostic radiologic exams and assists providers with specialty exams. Performs clinical and general department responsibilities to assist in optimizing quality, patient satisfaction, and utilization of services.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one (1) of the following required:
    • Current Montana EMT license.
    • Current Montana Paramedic license.
  • Completion of 104-hour board approved course to successfully obtain Limited Permit X-Ray within one (1) month of hire required.
  • Successfully obtain Limited Permit from the State Board of Radiology Technologists within two (2) months of hire required.
  • Current BLS HCP Certification or will successfully obtain during the orientation process. 
  • Previous medical office experience preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.

Job Specific Duties:

  • Maintains awareness of data processing technology, government and state regulations, health insurance changes and financing options.
  • Responds to incident reports and patient concerns per department procedures.
  • Works in collaboration with clinic staff to ensure registration of patients per department protocol.
  • Performs specimen collection, accessioning, distribution and filing of results.
  • Follows departmental safety record protocol and procedures.
  • Assists provider with patient care tasks including, but not limited to; vital signs, application of cardiac monitor, oxygen, dressing applications, etc. per scope of practice.
  • Prepares patient for radiology examinations and explains procedure.
  • Performs radiological exams within Limited Permit specifications.
  • Cleans, stocks and makes ready the examination rooms.
  • Accurately follows department procedures for DME billing.

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week.  Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
