We are looking for a dynamic Manager, Property Accounting to lead and manage a team of accounting associates as well as review and analyze the preparation of financial results for 20,000+ single-family rental properties across various client portfolios. Other responsibilities include maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, working with other departments to understand their impact on the financials, and collaborating with other teams within the Accounting Department to ensure timely delivery of financial statements. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting knowledge and experience, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, be able to manage multiple tasks, and have a desire to grow and develop the team.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Leads and develops a team of accounting professionals by providing ongoing coaching, training, and mentorship.
• Coordinates team efforts to meet reporting deadlines while ensuring accurate and timely preparation, review, and analysis of financial statements.
• Guides and reviews work completed by accounting associates for accuracy and completeness in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Responsible for preparation and review of scheduled and ad-hoc financial reports and supporting schedules deliverables to portfolio clients and other departments.
• Responsible for understanding a variety of financial reports and the impact of the single-family rental business on results of operations.
• Identifies areas for process improvement and works with management to document changes and implement enhancements, including documentation of policies and procedures.
• Assists with external and internal audit requests (SOX Compliance, Internal Controls, annual financial statement audits, etc.).
• Participates in Company-provided training.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field is required.
• Five years of experience in accounting and financial statement preparation is required. Property Accounting experience is preferred.
• Minimum of three years of supervisory experience is required.
• Intermediate Excel expertise required; Yardi experience a plus.
• Experience working with high volumes of data.

• Ability to be at work on a regular and consistent basis; overtime may be required for this position.

Physical and Mental Demands

This position will spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers. The position may also entail light lifting of supplies and materials occasionally, up to and including 20 pounds in addition to reaching, stooping, standing, and walking. This position requires the ability to talk, hear, compare, compute, compile, copy, analyze, coordinate, synthesize, negotiate and communicate. Salary Range

$71,925.00 - $124,670.00
