About us:
Linklaters is a global law firm, providing legal services in 20 countries and through 30 offices.
Linklaters is a people business. Being best in class in the eyes of our clients means that our people must be exceptional.
We look not only for brilliant minds, but for people who will thrive in our environment: people who love working collaboratively and demonstrate the innovative, efficient, agile, entrepreneurial, and responsible mind-set we aim to bring to every interaction.
Ours is an environment of outperformance. We achieve this not with targets and incentives, but by fostering a positive, supportive, fair, and open atmosphere.
We respect and value difference but insist on inclusivity. We celebrate all aspects of diversity and challenge any form of bias. This is vital to our ability to work as one team, with a common goal.
The Role:
You will play a pivotal part in delivering the firm’s Clients & Sectors strategy, working closely with Sector Leaders to shape and implement a forward-looking Mining sector plan aligned with firm-wide priorities. The role focuses on driving profitable growth through cross-selling, proactive client engagement, and leveraging sector insights. Reporting into the Head of Sector Cluster – Energy, Infrastructure, and Resources, you will be a key member of the Business Development & Marketing function, collaborating with colleagues locally and globally to execute initiatives that strengthen client relationships and enhance the firm’s reputation.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Support the Head of Sector Cluster and Sector Leaders in shaping and delivering a clear Mining sector strategy aligned with firm-wide priorities and revenue growth objectives.
Review the Mining sector’s client portfolio to ensure alignment with strategic goals and evolving market conditions.
Set and monitor targets and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of sector strategy and business development initiatives.
Lead the execution of sector-specific BD campaigns and client-targeting activities, collaborating with BDM teams to deliver impactful go-to-market strategies.
Provide high-quality input into win strategies and pitch submissions, working closely with Pitching teams and supporting client relationship managers in meeting preparation.
Use data-driven insights for horizon scanning, opportunity identification, and pipeline management within the Mining sector.
Analyse market intelligence and external trends to inform BD strategies and generate cross-selling opportunities across products and regions.
Build strong relationships with Sector Leaders, partners, and client teams to foster collaboration, share best practice, and ensure a coordinated approach to client engagement.
What we’re looking for:
Experience in a global sector business development role within legal or professional services.
Strong understanding of the Mining sector, including key clients, market trends, and industry challenges.
Proven ability to develop and implement sector-focused BD strategies that drive revenue growth and cross-selling.
Skilled in building relationships and collaborating effectively with senior stakeholders across a matrix structure.
Comfortable working in a complex, fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and moving parts.
Ability to analyse data and apply insights to inform strategic decisions and identify opportunities.
