Senior Program Management Specialist - Core Stage Integrated Product Team (IPT) Element Leader

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Program Management Specialist Core Stage Integrated Product Team (IPT) Element Leader to join NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS) Program in New Orleans, LA.

NASA's Space Launch System (SLS) is key to returning the United States to the Moon and sending the first astronauts on to Mars. This position is responsible for overall execution of engineering, supply chain and operations activities for the SLS Core Stage elements.  The position reports to the SLS Core Stage IPT Leader.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages multi-disciplinary Element(s) within the larger Integrated Product Team (IPT)
  • Develops and maintains program baselines (technical, cost, schedule, requirements, configuration, etc.)
  • Utilizes EVM to manage program performance, review and approve variances, and ensure accurate EAC for respective element
  • Characterizes and manages risks, issues, and opportunities with executable and relevant mitigation plans, and accurate financial impacts
  • Implements program processes, and seeks out process improvements to eliminate waste and drive execution
  • Monitors metrics to manage IPT performance, identify program risk, and prioritize resource allocation
  • Reports status to program and executive leadership, both internal and with customer
  • Supports proposal development (tech volume, BOEs, schedule, resources, GR&A), and negotiations
  • Supports major subcontractor component/part development and delivery to support production activities
  • Assists with staffing plan development; participate in hiring, performance management, and career development
  • Maintains a high performing integrated team with a positive culture driven by Boeing values

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years’ experience in leading and/or managing complex projects
  • 5+ years’ experience in directing, delegating, and ensuring performance of assigned responsibilities and tasks as a project team leader
  • 5+ years’ experience in NASA Space programs or a related Space or Defense program
  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Experience in leading a cross functional team

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 8+ years’ experience in program/project management
  • Experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM)

Work Location:

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Travel:

Position may require travel up to 20% of the time.

NASA Access:

This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility. This is a NASA safety-sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.

Summary pay range: USD $136,850 – $185,150
