A Brief Overview:
The Pharmacy Resident will participate in an immersive and structured pharmacy residency program designed to provide a comprehensive learning experience. This program will include rotations in various pharmacy practice areas, opportunities for research and quality improvement projects, and active engagement with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

What you will do:

  • Complete a series of pharmacy practice rotations within the health system as described for the residency program.
  • Work under the guidance of experienced preceptors to develop clinical pharmacy skills.
  • Participate in patient care rounds, medication management, and therapeutic interventions.
  • Engage in research projects or quality improvement initiatives under the mentorship of preceptors.
  • Collect and analyze data, present findings as appropriate, and complete a manuscript
  • Participate in the medication management process, including medication reconciliation, order verification, and dispensing.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize medication therapy for patients.
  • Provide education and training to healthcare providers, pharmacy staff, and patients on medication-related topics.
  • Present educational seminars or in-service programs as assigned.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of pharmacy protocols and guidelines.
  • Attend pharmacy conferences, meetings, and seminars to expand knowledge and network with pharmacy professionals.
  • Prepare and present educational sessions or case presentations during residency meetings.


 

What you will need:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from ACPE accredited college of pharmacy
  • Registered Pharmacist (RPH) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) Eligibility for pharmacist licensure in the state of Illinois. Pharmacist license required by designated deadline.
