The Operational Risk Sr Officer I is a strategic professional who closely follows latest trends in own field and adapts them for application within own job and the business. The Operational Risk Sr Office is responsible for overseeing and managing the operational risk framework related to the governance, compliance, and management of legal entities within the organization. This role involves working closely with senior management, business, risk, compliance and operational teams to ensure that governance structures are in place and aligned with regulatory requirements, policies, and risk management frameworks. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level.


Responsibilities:

  • Establishes and oversees the application of operational risk policies, technology and tools, and governance processes to create lasting solutions for minimizing losses from failed internal processes, inadequate controls, and emerging risks
  • Independently asses risks and drive actions to address the root causes that persistently lead to operational risk losses by challenging both historical and proposed practices
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with the formation, operation, and management of legal entities across jurisdictions
  • Collaborate with risk management teams to integrate legal entity risks into the broader Legal Entity Oversight (LEO) program
  • Monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) and risk metrics related to legal entity governance, ensuring timely reporting and escalation of issues
  • Issues Management (KPI/KRI/Corrective Action Plans
  • Analyzes a multitude of scorecards/performance management tools in an attempt to mitigate exposure (risk/financial/regulatory)
  • Prepare and present detailed risk reports and dashboards to senior management, risk committees, and the board of directors.
  •  Ensure timely reporting and documentation of governance-related incidents, breaches, or regulatory changes affecting legal entities.
  •  Assist in the development and implementation of risk mitigation plans, including remedial actions and monitoring progress
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years relevant experience
  • Outstanding communication and influencing skills through all levels of the organization. Exceptional relationship management skills; must be able to address and resolve conflict while maintaining relationships.
  • Detailed oriented with analytical skills, as the role requires a large amount of data manipulation and presentation. Expert in Microsoft Office Tools.
  • Experience in a large multinational organization or financial institution.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices for legal entity governance (e.g., Basel III, Dodd-Frank, SOX).

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in risk management, finance, law, business, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$163,600.00 - $245,400.00
