The Northrop Grumman Space Systems Sector has an immediate opening in the Remote Sensing Programs (RSP) Business Unit in the Payload and Ground Systems Division (PGSD) for a Principal/Senior Principal Project Manager - Capital and Facilities to serve as the focal point to support Facility expansion and growth for the BU. The individual will be managing internal and external teams to design and execute construction projects in the Baltimore, MD area to enable growth in the business area. The individual will be responsible for cost, schedule, and requirements management of projects. This individual will report up through the Manufacturing Operations organization.

Key roles and responsibilities include the following:

  • Manage requirements and track cost and schedule for Assembly, Integration and Test (AI&T) Facility Expansion projects in the Baltimore area.

  • Coordinates with architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings. Participate in Design reviews.

  • Work with Northrop Grumman Project Managers, Engineering, Manufacturing Operations and Program Managers to ensure on time completion of Facility tasks comply with the BU requirements to support current and future programs.

  • Strong leader capable of pulling together effective meetings with peers and stakeholders to collect feedback, assess gaps, define best practices, and best path forward.

  • Thorough risk & opportunity management to include identification, mitigation, and realization.

This position can be staffed at a Principal or Sr. Principal level, based on the basic qualifications below.

Basic Qualifications for Principal level:

  • Prior experience in Facility and Capital Planning is required.

  • Principal: Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of project management like experience OR a Master’s degree with 3 years of project management like experience.  4 additional years required in lieu of a degree.

  • Sr. Principal: Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of project management like experience OR a Master’s degree with 6 years of project management like experience. 4 additional years required in lieu of a degree.

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance, and SCI access/approval.

  • Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

  • Experience identifying, analyzing, tracking, and reporting on risk and opportunities.

  • Experience managing priorities and stakeholders effectively in an environment of constant

  • change.

  • Ability to update and analyze financial data from a variety of sources.

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Teams)

  • Familiarity with Scheduling Software

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active PMP Certified is highly preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Earned Value Management experience.

  • MS or MBA degree in a technical, business, or related field.

  • Strong NG understanding and proven experience effectively working within and through

  • NG (and/or a similar) corporate culture.

  • Experience with the Defense Community customers.

  • Demonstrated ability to understand detailed program financial performance; strong problem solving and analytical skills; ability to make recommendations and provide guidance to effectively bring projects to completion.

  • The ability to balance and influence multiple competing priorities and individuals.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of company and sector operations, policies, Principals and Operating Procedures (PrOP).

Salary Range: $84,600.00 - $127,000.00Salary Range 2: $104,900.00 - $157,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
