What You Will Do:

  • Develop and enhance software supporting advanced radar systems.

  • Contribute to automated test frameworks designed for complex, distributed radar processing pipelines.

  • Use Python, Java, C, JavaScript, or MATLAB to develop, integrate, and validate system-level features.

  • Support DevSecOps workflows by maintaining Git-based repositories, performing code reviews, and contributing to Agile sprints.

  • Build tools and visualizations for analyzing radar performance, system behavior, and test results.

  • Assist in developing data-driven test methods, including sensor-driven simulation environments and automated regression pipelines.

  • Leverage AI to accelerate the software development lifecycle.


What You Will Learn:

  • How AI, automation, and data-driven methods are used to improve performance, reliability, and situational awareness in modern radar systems.

  • Best practices for designing and scaling automated test systems for complex real-time architectures.

  • How multidisciplinary engineering teams (software, systems, algorithms, integration) collaborate in a mission-focused environment.

  • Techniques for building and testing distributed systems handling high-rate sensor data and mission-critical processing.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session. 

  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, C, or JavaScript.

  • Familiarity with hardware or embedded systems concepts such as Arduino, sensors, or circuit design.

  • Understanding of Git/GitHub and iterative Agile development workflows.

  • Demonstrated initiative through personal or academic projects involving software, sensors, data, or automation.

  • U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain a security clearance if needed.


Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience or interest in AI integration, data analysis, or ML workflows (Cursor IDE, ChatGPT, Claude).

  • Exposure to full-stack development tools such as MERN (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js).

  • Hands-on experience developing automated systems, sensor-based prototypes, or real-time data pipelines (Arduino, ultrasonic sensors, hall-effect sensors).

  • Experience organizing or leading technical initiatives, hackathons, or club projects.

  • Coursework or certifications in CI/CD, DevOps, digital logic, or semiconductor technologies.

  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills demonstrated through leadership roles and project ownership

The salary range for this role is 42,000 USD - 88,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
